You never cut the wires. You pull white tab and press the button on the side of the yellow plug. Also you need to remov3vthe fuses that go to the air bag. Also it is usually a good idea to disconnect the negative cable on the battery. Airbags are extremely sensitive and caution should be taken to avoid damage to yourself or the airbag system itself. If you have a check airbag warning when you start the car, then dicinnect the negative cable again and wait 30 minutes.

I think it's prudent to remove the negative battery cable from the battery before removing the seat. The air bag system is sensitive to anything going wrong and I think cutting the cable could short something and cause the air bag or pretensioner* to blow. And once you disconnect the battery, let the car sit for at least 30 minutes. The air bag system has built in voltage storage to account for the battery being damaged in an accident. Safer still is to remove the negative cable then short the CABLE tp the positive cable/battery post, then leave the car sit for 15 minutes or more. There is no connector on the seat air bag cable because there was a recall and they removed the connector and soldered the wires. Nice... *And speaking of pretensioner; I replaced a torn leather seat on my daughters 2011 Enclave with one from a salvage yard. The one in the salvage yard had been in an accident, but the seat air bag had never blown. Once replaced the car had a solid SRS Service Air Bag light. As it turns out, if a car is in a crash and any air bag fires, there is a device called a "pretensioner" that blows (on all seats I think) to instantly take the slack out of the seat belt. Basically it pulls the seat belt a few inches so you don't slide under or go too far forward. On some cars it's on the buckle/latch side, attached to the seat. On the 2011 Enclave, it's on the side opposite the buckle (on the passenger seat, at least). On the 2011 Enclave, one end of the seat belt does NOT attach to the floor with a bolt , it attaches to a short seat belt stub which is bolted to the SEAT. I THINK on some cars it may be attached to the end of the seat belt that rewinds it, in the pillar. On the 2011 Enclave, it's located on the outside edge of the seat, running horizontally behind the plastic trim and looks like a piece of metal tubing about 10 inches long. I saw it on the seat and it had a yellow connector (indicating air bag) but I didn''t know what it was. Regardless, the pretensioner on the seat I bought had fired and the air bag system knew it, even though my car was not in a crash. Once the pretensioner blows, it cannot** be reset. I suspect once it blows, the detonator that makes it blow, opens electrically and the air bag circuit detects it. It's some sort of gas explosion, so it happens very fast. (There is a good KZbin video showing one blowing.) I took it to a repair place because I couldn't figure out what was causing the SRS light and they said it was the pretensioner. I gave them the one from the old seat. I don't know if they had to use their bi-direction scan tool to reset the error after they replaced the part. **I think some sellers on eBay may have a repair service.

As for the pretensioner, once they are changed, which is actually easy and I made a video for that as well just haven't got around to uploading it, it will automatically remove the light. It is similar but you won't have to cut any wires. Pop plastic and look for the bolts

Thank you for the instructions. I have removed the front passenger seat of my 2008 Buick, but now I am having a problem with reinstallation because the bolts do not line up properly with the floor holes. I can't figure out why ?

Make sure to properly place the front hooks in first by angling the seat at a 45 toward the steering wheel until they drop into place once they are in the bolts should align for you. I hope this helps. Thanks for watching

Unfortunately, this isn't enough information to help you. If it sounds like the motor is engaging then the gear sproket could be striped. I would recommend seeing if you can see it in action to verify by striping the components down so you have a visual. Hope this helps

Good info I have a 2011 Buick enclave I’m trying to figure out what’s going on with the driver seat I start going forward the inside track gets jam. Then gets bound up just wondering if you had this issue before

More than like you probably have something stuck in the track. You could probably remove the seat and use an air compressor to blow it out real good on both sides and should hopefully do the trick. If they doesn't work might need to replace the motor which would be an easy fix it you have the seat out. Hope you get it. Let me know

Jason do you have a how to install with the crumping you mentioned. Also what will happen if you don’t crump correctly will the airbag deploy when you cut the car on

I did not make a video on that but it is the same concept you use for splicing any wires such as speaker wire. I believe I used a red crimp. The air bag won't deploy on you but you may have a light on. Thanks for watching and I hope this helped.

It is definitely always better to solder them if you know how however the crimps have worked fine. They actually make a new crimp that makes the sorry soldering really easy. It has the solder built in and you just have to heat the crimp. I really like them. Thanks for watching

Good video, But you are NOT, & should NOT EVER CUT THE WIRE GOING TO THE SEAT AIRBAG!!! It is a little extra work, But it WILL unplug if you access the plug (🔌) location!!!

@@brayangarsia4512 There was a connector there originally where the floor harness comes through the carpet. This harness was for the SRS seat components -- BUT, there was a GM safety recall I guess where they cut out the SRS connector and soldered the wires together solid and weather sealed it. I can only imagine the connector was a source of electrical gremlin/failure probably due to moisture & corrosion.
