I bet someone can invent a kick ass post "pusher" using a similar mechanism. The process can be reversed, so ratcheting will push down instead of pull it up. The posts, can obviously be of greater size with thick pads so they cant sink only the post does. It basically jams the post into the ground. Instead of the typical jack hammer type method. Then again, idk, if the ground is too hard it may just mushroom the tip and screw the whole thing up.

Hi Ussak, The process by which we achieved this was to attach the Safe Jack Secure Lifter to the farm jack and start by wrapping a chain from it around the lowest part of the shrub. This will let us get the best possible hold on the root system. When you have lifted from the roots some, you'll then wrap the chain lower each time to get the best hold on the roots and a good "bite" when lifting. It's a multi-step process but much easier than digging and digging for hours! Thank you for your question!

It is a farm jack. It cost $40 to $60 at most hardware stores. You might find it even cheaper online.

Kim Haas I assume you've never done it with a shovel then. This way is about 1000 times easier than using a shovel. The only thing easier than this video is using a truck to pull them out.
