HOW TO REMOVE Stuck Augers From Honda Snowblower !

I'll show you how to remove stuck augers on your Honda Snowblower.

If you break a shear pin and the auger does not spin freely, you may have a problem with rust and your augers need servicing. It's fairly easy removing the auger/impeller assembly and once removed I show how to remove auger from auger gearshaft using a vice , penetrating oil, and a lever.
Once removed you can service the augers by cleaning out shafts, welding up egg shaped shear pin holes, cleaning out auger gearbox shafts and applying anti seize grease on everything.
This will give you years of worry free service on your augers.

Working on this now. it has been soaking in penetrating oil for 3 weeks on the machine. One side came loose, but the other is stuck. Removed the augers yesterday. Going to do the vertical soak and vice prying next. The impeller is stuck, too, so that has been getting the penetrating lube, too

Try some heat on auger shaft to expand it

I don't want to melt or damage the gearbox seals. I'll just be patient with the penetrating oil and pressure. If I gave her some heat, I'm sure it would free up today as you mention.

@@peterunderwood3447 You can put a fair amount of heat on the auger before it travels down the shaft enough to damage the seals. Also, you can wrap wet rags around the shaft by the gearbox and that will help keep the heat away from the gearbox.

Worked on this again today. Couldn't seem to get it apart. Used a pipe like Anthony does at 6:29 in the video here. Turned no problem. Turned the auger while applying upward pressure and the auger twisted right off. Now I'm trying to get the impeller off the gearbox shaft. It's stuck too the gearbox, but free from the pulley shaft/input shaft. More penetrating oil. Won't be able to use the pipe this time. Maybe a long screwdriver in the impeller shear bolt holes? The screwdriver felt like it was going to break today...

Soaked it in Kroil again. Clamped it in the vice and punched it out. Penetrating oil. Patience. Hammers. Long pipe. Success.
