Every time I watch one of your videos I'm reminded how much better Honda snowblowers are designed and built compared to everything else on the market. I have an old Craftsman I inherited from my late father that I'm restoring. I have to split the machine in half to remove the auger assembly. I still learn a ton from watching your videos too. Happy new year! You're doing a great job!

I have watched a lot of your videos and they have helped me service a 928. Recently I send a828 to my tenants in Truckee. The shipping company dropped it off the pallet and mangled the auger box. Honda Honda says it's no longer available. I am wondering if you have a used 828 auger box and a set of auger.

hope you collected some insurance $$. my suggestion is buy a donor machine with a blown engine or tranny. Last time i checked those buckets are still available. a 928 bucket is same size.

Highly recommended service point for your Honda HS624-724-828-928-1132-1332. For the HS50-55-70-80 you have to remove bucket to remove augers and impeller.

What would the process be for an H55?
@HondaSnowblowerEnthusiasts3115 ай бұрын
HS50-55-70-80 augers rarely need servicing but you can check the same way. remove shear pin and see if auger spins freely.

@@HondaSnowblowerEnthusiasts311 Super helpful video. I have a HS828 with auger frozen to shaft on one side. I have an oxy-acetelene torch to heat the shaft as the video suggests and am wondering if one could wrap the gearbox with a wet rag and have water dripping on it while heating to possibly save the oil seals. I would like to free up the shaft from the auger, but am not thrilled about heat causing me to have to tear apart the gearbox also. Any thoughts on trying to keep the gearbox cool while heating the shaft?? Thank you.

Should the augurs be replaced if the teeth are worn down to nothing?
@HondaSnowblowerEnthusiasts3119 ай бұрын
not necessarily. they will still work but wont cut as well. you may have to go slower. make sure blades are not bent. you can straighten with large crescent wrenches. this augers are very expensive. thanks for watching.

Thus question has probably already been addressed but here goes anyway: do you need to replace the oil in the auger gear box?
@HondaSnowblowerEnthusiasts3118 ай бұрын
it's gear oil. very infrequently. i check the level every fall .That's more important than changing it. it doesnt get hot in there so i don't worry about it. Not sure what Honda recommends. I have had gearboxes that are 30 plus years old where the oil looks new still.
