Can you remove the cover from the airbag so you can replace it without buying the complete airbag? There are some sellers from China that sell the cover only but I'm not sure if it can be separated from the airbag to install a new cover, thanks!

does the airbag warning light light up on the dash when the passenger airbag is disconnected? or just its specific for the driver airbag? both air bags are not deployed but had to take apart the entire dashboard to work on the A.C and taking everything back together the airbag light pops up.

The airbag light turns on for any airbag system either the passenger side dash the driver the seats the module the curtain airbag

@@Nickthecarguy darn it, then the passenger airbag it’s disconnected, after the AC repair, the little little message saying that the passenger airbag is on or off it’s always off, even when I have a passenger ;/

You will have to remove the airbag then the silver bezel that holds the switches have to come off its held in there by a ball joint you just pull on the bezel towards you and it should pop out

I work at a Toyota dealer I never do but I would suggest removing the battery cable to be on the safe side

I would take out the airbag and try to reinstall it maybe it's been out and not installed correctly

Mine doesn't fall out that way. There are no other holes to compress the spring.

@@Nickthecarguy I have the 2013 fusion. Apparently my car is like the one in the video, it just wouldn't fall out without a little persuasion, lol. I was able to remove the airbag and trim to replace the steering wheel switches. Thank you!

Vytautas Balsys there little orange plastic piece going to take a little flat head screwdriver and pull that little plastic orange piece up and won't come out all the way just enough to unlock it so you can pull the connector off the airbag

Make sure that the connector on the airbag is fully plugged in and locked I've had this happen twice with me

Thanks - remember to remove the +ve wire on the battery and let it sit for 30 minutes before touching the airbag.

Good advice I mess with airbag so much I never disconnect the battery anymore. I've never had issue. Only time I would disconnect the battery for my self is if I'm using impact gun near the airbag module or messing with the airbag module it self. I've seen where a friend of mine had the car on and he was removing the console and the vibration from the imapct gun set off the airbags.
