How to Remove the Grill from a 2018 Jeep Wrangler JL

Removing the grille on a 2018 Jeep Wrangler JL is an easy job that only takes a few minutes. You'll need a flat head screwdriver or a nylon panel tool to remove a series of clips along the top edge of the grill after you open the hood.Then you simply pull the bottom edge of the grill to release the retaining clips.
One of the most popular reasons to remove the grill would be to change a burned out headlight bulb, or if you want to swap out the original headlight assemblies for aftermarket LED headlights.

I need to do that to look at my horns they’re not working. How sensitive are those clips. I don’t want to break them when pulling on the grill.

@@MarioRodriguez-gr8wc Well, just tug on the corner of the grills, you don't have to pull hard, just keep tugging giving more force each time, to see if it would pop. I was scared to break them but now I know how much force to use, and they aren't that fragile,

What do the ones under the headlights look like. Mine dont want to release and I feel like I will ruin the grill if I pull any harder. I would like somewhere to pry but I dont know how it comes apart. Oh and with a real bumper and a winch there is no where for it to move forward.

There is a clip below each headlight that is a bastard to release. Also, I put a towel down between the bottom of the grill and top of the bumper so I wouldn’t scratch anything

I don't have access to an official wrangler jeep store in my town. Incase I break the pressure clips on the grill while pulling, which for some reason gone stiff due to heat and dirt. How do I repair it, as I doubt any adhesive solution that can mend the broken pressure clips.

Okay anyone ever dropped one of the little grill fasteners into the engine bay? One popped out of my hand when I was putting the grill back on and fell in the front right part of the engine bay. It was just the flat plastic washer portion. Not the plug insert that goes in the middle. I looked around and could not see it anywhere and it did not fall through. Doesn't appear to be anything that it could do there as there are no belt or fans and even so I can't imagine it would do anything more than just get flung out of the bottom of the engine onto the ground. Still anyone had this happen or can alleviate my concerns that the little piece could wreak havoc.

Because the grill tapers in at the bottom, it doesn't look like there's room behind the grill to fit a light housing if you cut a hole there.

Here's a guy in 3 minutes removing the grill. FEW!!. Breathing easier, putting on one of those cheesy angry bird black grills on my new 2021 Rubicon 4xe. Nail biting.
