Huge thanks to Brittany Blackmon, drag race queen and mechanic extraordinaire at Blackmon's Garage: blackmons.mech... in SA, TX! Also, find her on Instagram: @fastcarsandslowcookin !!
I really appreciate her taking her entire lunch break to come and donate her time (and all of these supplies & tools!) to our CarFest 20(21?) charity donation car. Without her knowledge and skillset, I would have passed up with perfectly good OEM Junkyard Carpet! And look how great it turned out. Also, huge thanks to Pull-A-Part of Corpus Christi, TX for having us, and donating this carpet to our charity car repair team. That means the world to us, as well as the future family who ends up getting this car!!

Great video, Faye. Wow...I've watched a lot of detailers on You Tube, but have never seen the hot-iron technique. Another trick to use, when necessary. The chickens are getting big! Keep up the great work.

Look much better; i never had to use an iron to clean that kind of furry carpets, we used a foam spray for dry clean it, a brush to rub it well usualy and then a very strong soap and rub it again with the short hair with force. We'd clean it with the heat pistol and... care. But i never had a carpet with such bad and big stains on it; stay well. See you tomorrow!

An extraction machine (a good shopvac will do if you don't have one) is best. You have to pull that soap/dirt out of the carpet the best you can. Any soap residue left behind will attract dirt in the future. - Anyway, great channel. My niece is being raised as a "girly girl" but I want to show her that she can do whatever she wants. This channel helps me with that so thank you.

I use my pressure washer with hot water after spraying it down with purple power if it is really bad. I have done a ton of car seats that way too as long as they don't have airbags or heaters in them. I make sure to do it when I have a bunch of warm, sunny and dry weather coming up. If you don't have a hot water hose spigot in your shop you can use the drain directly on the water heater tank in your house. Thanks for the iron idea.

did the generic carpet cleaner have any claim to help prevent future stains? if not, then you might consider dying the gray carpet (even possibly bleaching first). the reason i ask is 'cuz if the answer is yes, then the chemicals that prevent future stains also lock in whatever the current apperance. this protective barrier also prevents trying to further clean the existing carpet. so if you use a product that prevents future stains, but it doesn't get your carpet as clean as you wanted it's a done deal. the preventative/protective barrier has locked in any residual stain that the product failed to get out. ✌️🐝➕🙃

Hi Faye, what is your favorite chicken breed? Binge watching your vids and saw that you have silkies! I grew up on a small family farm. We had silkies, barred rocks and Rhoad Island reds. They all were my little buddies as a child. Now at my house we have a few "pet hens/backyard birds" for the grandkids to learn about and they provide us with many eggs. We love your channel, just discovered it and love it! Good luck, be safe and continue those great vids!

Every Woman, since the dawn of KZbin/Social Media, Needs to take note. As Faye Hadley sets the example for others to follow, in the quest to be Beautiful (Inside and out), Productive, Heart Warming, and Oh My God!!! NOT afraid to get her hands dirty, by working on cars... This will then eliminate the worry, that some of today's modern women instill within their gender, and that is to TAKE, TAKE, TAKE!!! without giving back!!!! We as MEN, and as DIY enthusiasts, LOVE the HECK out of you Faye Hadley !!!!! PS: I am sure I speak for many a MEN here in the comment section...

I would have just spent the money for a weather tech set. I live up in a area where they Salt for winter, and the original mats always end up salt encrusted after a winter usage. I could see doing this if you intend to sell the car, or one of those OEM (original equipment manufacturer) fanatics.
