Another hint.....IF ( if) you can mount the gun tightly like on that vise that you show....AND....have it sit on a drill-press table surface......put a properly sized screwdriver bit ( parallel face, hollow ground) in the chuck, and bring the chuck down onto the screw with the lever arm of the drill press. That should often exert enough pressure on the screw slot without letting the screwdriver bit slip, while holding the lever down. Then turn the drill chuck.....even if you have to attach a channel lock or some kind of "lever" on the chuck.......

If you don't have an impact you can put a wrench on that screwdriver that might help a bit.

Had to use an impact driver for 2 hours on an Spanish Mauser FR8 because the action screws were glued in. I still had to use the impact even when the screw was 1 revolution out so stubborn was the glue in the threads.

Correct . Excellent for the bottom trigger plate screw on doubles. MUST grind ( and heat treat if needed) bit exactly to slot, including bottom shape of slot. Hammer impact driver. And know how to use it with proper rotation preload.

Couldn’t figure out how to ask a question so here goes. Can you install a vent rib on a Savage model 745? If so what would the process be? Thanks!

I love watchin and learning from you. I grew up in potosi and now own a farm in Cuba. I have a question for you. I have a auto-5 sweet 16 from 1958. My question is can I put a 12 gauge barrel on it and run 12 gauge for skeet shootin or even heavier loads? Thanks guys. Ya’ll are awesome

12 Ga. barrels will not work on a Sweet 16. Thanks for watching.

I'm trying to get the stock off of mine, but the forward screw (ahead of the one with the lock screw) is too bunged up to get a driver on it. I'm not mechanically inclined at all so I don't have any solutions except force. Normally I'd say oh well, but now the bolt won't come all the way back and lock into place like it should, so now I'm forced to continue disassembly but with that screw being too bunged to budge, I'm stuck.

That sounds like the trigger spring screw. You don’t have to remove it to get the stock off.

@@Thunderball66 You were correct. I got it all stripped, cleaned, put together and back to original format today.
