They really cram a lot in that engine compartment. The only thing better than the workmanship in this video is the narration. Great job, Leek.

I like this format. Good camera angles and your good at keeping the commentary interesting. :) So much plastic on cars these days. I'm not use to that. Have a fantastic 2020 Leek.

Hi there I'm from the UK I have a 1.2 tsi 86 bhp 2016 golf mk7 my question is at what milage should the timing belt be changed and is the water pump located next to it? many thanks and by the way I'm no mechanic lol.

My mechanic is gonna do this job for me. But it's taking a week and a half for the water pump to arrive in the mail. Should it take this long for the part to come in?

Hey Leek, how many miles were on this, do you remember? I am a tech but not for VW.. my water pump in my 2016 Sportwagen (1.8) is leaking at only 48,000 miles. Never worked on a car that had a bad water pump with that many miles,but then again I've never seen one that had a plastic housing mixed with the thermostat :)

I don't know why everyone made this pump replace video need to remove manifold, may be they all follow other youtuber did it wrong, old model need to,but new model electronics thermostat don't need anymore, I made a video on my KZbin just today,only coolant fan ,water pump and starter motor, remove starter because I can turn flywheel to put the new belt on, only 2 hours total.
@Leekautorepair3 жыл бұрын
U right u don’t have to remove the manifold but that’s what VW wants you to do and if it’s under warranty they expect every part/seal to be install as it is already billed out. They guys I worked with says the same thing til the plastic union didn’t line back up correctly and cause a coolant leak. Just take the manifold off, only an extra 15-20 mins

U right but I do things my way. Don’t encourage people to get stuck working blindly and installing the union on the engine oil cooler

Serious? Other choices are from below or putting front in service position?
