I just got a 2003 town car that was once used as a limousine, it has the tint and I hate it, on the back window especially I guess because of the defroster grid it's bubbling real bad, I thought of turning on the defroster and let the heat help with removing it, I'm afraid of damaging the grid, the car isn't pretty to begin with and the tint makes it look worse.

in Hawaii they only test one window for inspection, I only have the driver side tinted because of the sun

What is the purpose of the 409? I was wondering if it would work without the 409 . I have a new car and dont want it to smell like 409 . I know im not spraying it on the car panels or interior but just dont want to risk it

Any kind of soapy water will also work. It keeps the tint and underlying glue from drying out with the heat applied by the sun or a heat gun.

Things you gotta deal with when buying a decent car from a teenager... 1) replacing the quick release steering wheel 2) replacing the shifter with something practical 3) getting a muffler 4) changing the oil 5) and finally removing the tint so you can see out the car.

When you put it on the window and leave it in the sun, the black bag absorbs the heat and makes the glue soft, if you have a heat gun you can skip this step.

thank you. the tint on my back windshield crumpled in the heat last summer. It's a slanted window and it's awkward and difficult to reach over the backseat to pull the tint off. I may get a professional to do it.

Strange that it won’t pass in NC. The tint is supposed to help in hotter states. Just got a used car with very dark tint and a cracked dash. I’m thinking it’s a southern car. The dealer passed its inspection for 2024, of course, but I know it’s too dark for NYS.
