How To Remove Wireless Thermostat And Keep Boiler Working

This is a Hive smart thermostat being removed from an Ideal Logic combi boiler. It's the same process for any combi and controls. If the controls are getting the power direct from the fused spur switch then you just need to remove the thermostat wires from the boiler and link the terminals.
Combi boilers come with a wire link in the control terminals which are removed by the installer when fitting the thermostat and timer. A link must be fitted when removing controls to make the boiler keep working.

Removing a thermostat or timer is sometimes needed if they're faulty as they can cause the boiler to not work. Also, if you're moving house you might want to take your Hive or Nest smart thermostat with you. I used 'keep boiler working' in the title because if you just remove the wires without adding a link then the boiler won't work.

I have a question, if i live in a rental building and the landlord is setting my thermostat for the ac and everytine i turn it down to 70°F he turns it back to 76°F remotely. Is there a way i can bypass his preset or remove his ability to remotly set my thermostat. Its an LG thermostat. Thanks for the video;

I don't deal with AC in England but it sounds like he might have a smart thermostat and controlling it from his phone. You'd probably have to disconnect it (like in this video) and fit a different one.
