I was trying to get this working for so long in Maya. It was working fine in Blenders render from Cycles. I totally missed the render sequence over just a normal render. Thanks for pointing this out.

@@VFXVIBE I did run into an issue where following the steps I ended up with Arnold watermarks even though I have the indie license. I'll see about reinstalling Arnold and see if that fixes the issue.

I have beauty pass as an exr and cryptomatte as another exr from blender. Can i use copy node to connect crypto pass to beauty and use cryptomatte? will it work that way or cryptomatte need to be in beauty pass itself while rendering?

It's not mandatory to have cryptomatte in Beauty, you can use it separately

@@VFXVIBE Rendered it as Sequence , with exr format RGb , but in Nuke the layers are empty inside the Cryptomatte Node , i also selected the correct crypto matte as well , but still not working

RGB matte I'd pass is very selective and you have to manually assign shaders and have to render it. Cryptomatte is based on object ID, material ID and shader. So its pretty easy to render and precise as well.

@@VFXVIBE Thanks sir. I am doing a nuke course. It's hard to find begginer friendly Nuke, Maya and Arnold tutorials. It's especially hard to find Nuke tutorials. Whereas there are tons of Blender and After Effects tutorials. Your channel is very helpful. If possible please consider doing a video explaining basic AOVs and rebuilding beauty render in Nuke. This is a concept me and many begginers find difficult to understand. Even though I am taking nuke classes in my course I still don't fully understand light passes like diffuse, specular, SSS and what is the proper workflow to take render passes and composite it. I am also confused about whether to Plus passes or subtract passes. I don't even know which passes are required.
