Thank you so much! I had a deadline in 3 hours, and the est. render time was 2.5 hours. But I watched this video and realized my settings were set on VBR 1 Pass. I stopped the tender and re-rendered it with CBR, and it cut the est. render time down to 1.5 hours. Giving me plenty of time to meet the deadline!

Highlight the section you want to only export... then click / it will automatically select in and out then in the export window below the sequence click the drop down menu and select In/Out...sorry replied a year later

Which one provides better video quality VBR or CBR?

Bit-rate matters more but if they are the same bitrate cbr would win. CBR always renders at the target bitrate since it's constant while vbr adjusts the bit-rate based on the complexity (colors, detail, etc) of the scene. This means that because it's variable it might use less bitrate for some shots and dip lower than the target bit rate. Overall you probable won't be able to tell the difference at the same bit rate tho...

If you have a GPU, and it wont let you set it to hardware encoding, press Ctrl+F12, in the search box, type, "hw", check EVERY box, and then close the window. You should now be able to set it to hardware encoding. :D

I already have all these settings the correct way, but no matter what, it still shows me a rendering time of more than 3 hours.. even when I rendern Full HD 60fps with a bit rate of 15... like wtf.. what am I doing wrong? Edit: but when I pre-render everything and check the box ''use previews'' before rendering, it cuts down to 20-25 minutes for a clip of 15min full hd 60fps. Thanks though

Quick question - there used to be a window that would pop up at the end of a successful render, confirming it had rendered properly. I don't see that window any more. The render just ends without fanfare or confirmation. How do I get that window back?

Hardware Encoding is always faster but I only use it for Shorter videos as It ALWAYS gives me a "Compiling H.264 Error" on Longer videos. So I have to use Software Encoding for long videos...
