Such that, when you acquire the citizenship of another country, you have to let go of your previous citizenship. There are instances, however, that a person becomes a citizen of 2 countries, not because they wanted it to happen, but by the application of the laws of both countries. An example of this are persons who are dual citizens by birth. Others have become dual citizens by choice, that is by performing a positive act to acquire 2 citizenships. An example of this are former natural born Philippine citizens who chose to retain or to re-acquire their Philippine citizenship after they lost it by naturalization in another country. Affidavit of Renunciation of Philippine Citizenship. Fill out two (2) copies of the affidavit which can be downloaded from this website. However, DO NOT SIGN the form. It has to be signed in front of a Consular Officer. Next, your Philippine Passport. You need to submit the original and 2 photocopies of the passport data page. Your original passport will be cancelled and will be retained at the Philippine Consulate General. Philippine Passport. Submit original and two (2) photocopies of passport data page. Original passport will be cancelled and retained at the Philippine Consulate General. Next, for dual citizens, your Identification Certificate, Oath of Allegiance and Order of Approval. These are the documents that you obtained when you retained or re-acquired your Philippine citizenship. You need to submit the original and 2 photocopies. The original dual citizenship papers will be cancelled and retained at the Philippine Consulate General. Identification Certificate, Oath of Allegiance, Order of Approval (For Dual Citizens) Submit original and two (2) photocopies. Original dual citizenship papers will be cancelled and retained at the Philippine Consulate General. Also, your PSA-issued Birth Certificate or Report of Birth. You need to submit the original copy and 2 photocopies. PSA Birth Certificate / Report of Birth
Submit original and two (2) photocopies. Then, your US Certificate of Naturalization or your US Passport. You need to submit 2 photocopies. Of course, similarly, if you are now a citizen of Australia, United Kingdom, Canada, or other country, you need to submit the corresponding proof of your foreign citizenship. This is what I was referring to - your proof that you are already a citizen of the other country before you will be allowed to renounce your Philippine citizenship. This rule similarly applies to all parties to the United Nations Convention on the Reduction of Statelessness. US Certificate of Naturalization / US Passport. Submit two (2) photocopies. Also, for those who are dual citizens by birth, you need to submit proof that your parent or parents were citizen or citizens of the Philippines at the time of your birth in the other country. Examples are the Naturalization Certificate, US green card or its equivalent in the other countries, visa, or Philippine passport. You need to submit 2 photocopies of such proof. Proof of Parent/s Philippine Citizenship at the time of child's birth (For those born in the US) Submit two (2) photocopies of parent/s proof of Filipino citizenship such as US Naturalization Certificate, US green card, US visa, Philippine passport. And finally, you need to pay the processing fee. For the applicants in the US, it’s $50. This is for the notarization of the Affidavit and Oath of Renunciation. Processing Fee $50.00 for notarization of Affidavit and Oath of Renunciation. (In cash or money order payable to the Philippine Consulate General in New York. Personal checks are not accepted.)

The good thing is may tax treaty naman po wherein you can apply for the tax exclusion sa isang bansa kung nakapagbayad ka na ng tax on the same income sa kabilang bansa.
