I remembered filing up the borang K in putrajaya in 2016. There was a notebook indicating those who have renounced. I saw all the names where chinese, i was the only malay in that page. When i look to my left there was a big queue for those trying to get malaysian citizenship. They were mostly migrants from bangladesh, myanmar etc . That moment really hit me. Thought provoking and really thinking anout my future, my family and Malaysia future. Epf withdrawal was done within 3 days. So yes, the author of this video is 100 % correct.

Hi, If I travelled back to malaysia using my US passport and renounced my citizenship in Putrajaya, do I have to stay for 3-14 days to get the letter ? Once I submitted the paperworks in JPN, can I just leave malaysia using US passport without any problem ? ( I was told JPN will issued a receipt as proof) ? I can only stay in malaysia for 7 days. also You mentioned there is office of commissioner of oath inside the Putrajaya JPN building correct ? I was told by the Malaysia Consulate in New York, JPN can send the renunciation letter to the embassy in new york and the embassy will then contact me for pick up later on. Also for the expediate process for 3 days , do I need to pay extra ? Your early response is very much appreciated, thank you Kian

Hey Kian, I would assume that if you came in with the US passport then you will be able to move in and out freely. You can also ask them to expedite the process when you submit the application imat Putrajaya. Yes there is a commissioner of oaths inside the office at Putrajaya. If you were to do it from an embassy I was told my their staff that it could take up to 6 months to receive your documents. Hope this helps.

Not really, I just felt since I got married and had a baby I would love to return home to Australia as my formative years during high school and uni were there. As I have experienced life there I felt it was better to raise my daughter in Aus. Theres no right or wrong its just preference. Plus having two passports can complicate things and I did not want any problems for my family in the future. In Australia they don’t look at whether you have a degree or not, as long as you work hard life will be great here.

Hey Frechell, what you could do is to enter with your American passport then do the renounciation in Putrajaya for faster processes. Technically speaking I don't think so but Malaysia does not recognize dual so it's in a grey zone. I know many Malaysians who hold dual and choose to do so. I make this comment as a Christian. Most Asian countries like Singapore and Malaysia do not allow dual citizenship. They have laws against it. So you are breaking the law by not renoucing your citizenship once you become a citizen of another country such as USA, UK, Australian etc. The bible says all liars or they that love to lie shall be thrown into hell Rev 21:8; 22:15. If you are a Christian you are practicing a lie everytime you use your Malaysian/Singaporean identity card or passport when you are a citizen of another country like the USA, UK etc. Even if the authorties don't find out, God knows and that would cost you heaven or hell. So don't lie and maintain dual citizenship otherwise you are a fake Christian in judgement of hell fire!

I don't blame you for being opportunistic, I would move to a western country too, but then again Malays aren't exactly immigrating everywhere, and creating enclave in foreign countries. Malays are very much spread out. The problem here is, if your community are significant enough to vote for policies favouring them, then you're going against the locals, which does rings some bells ey..

@@potatoeskimos We all look through different lenses. It's really hard to explain but diaspora Chinese are never really accepted anywhere. You have to be Chinese in Malaysia to understand. Most Chinese love Malaysia but there are many reasons why they leave. It's too long for me to explain here. Perhaps speak to people who have moved abroad.

When they are young and healthy, they see other countries as greener pastures. So they renounce their Malaysian citizenship and become new citizens of their preferred countries. When they grow old with no insurance policy and less savings, the are facing the difficulties to bear the high cost of the health care.

I only have another few decades to live on this earth, so some of us decide to make a choice and we have to live with it. At this moment Australia is the place I want to raise my child.

Just to let you know dahlan, some countries offer pension and free healthcare to all citizen/and prs (where the author is). So that being said , there is indeed a safety net. Unlike malaysia unfortunately. So i feel obliged to correct you, that being said, the ‘greener pasture’ here last till you somewhat die.

Hi Raphael, What do you mean by "renunciation letter"? Is that the Borang K, which is "the Renunciation of Malaysian Citizenship Declaration"? My daughter says that is all she got. Borang K and her BC back.

Yes borang K, after you hand that in they will issue you a sort of a receipt to pick up the docs when its ready
