You can use a parts washer or power washer if one is available but brake cleaner or another solvent can be used to clean the individual parts when disassembling the pump. Make sure that the parts are dry and free of the brake cleaner before reassembling the pump. O-rings and soft goods can be damaged by brake cleaner and harsh solvents. A light lubricating oil or spray can be used on the new O-rings to make reassembly easier.
