Repairing my bench top / lab power supply. It stopped correctly showing the amperage value but was functionally intact. The problem was intermittent so I had a pretty good idea of what I would find- but I went through the troubleshooting process anyhow for the video. This is the 30V 5 Amp version but others may be the same issue.
Usually my first step is a wiggle/tap/flex test for any intermittent problem. Most often a bad solder joint is the root cause.
At almost zero cost we are back up and running without wasting a perfectly serviceable power supply. I hope this helps you in your repairs.
