Nice job Candle man. I have done the same job but I removed all the rotten wood and replaced with treated scraps of wood, used the wood harder and when hardened the builder's fill. Good move to use the wood moulding. I think the young one's these days use screws inside of nails which suppose is easy to remove. Cheers for the video.

HOW TO USE THE RONSEAL WOOD REPAIR SYSTEM: Prepare the Surface. Remove all decayed and crumbly wood until fairly sound wood is exposed. This will feel more solid and less fibrous. Now leave the timber to dry out. It is essential that the timber is reasonably dry before treatment begins. To assist the drying process it may be possible to tape a plastic sheet loosely over the hole, in such a way that rain cannot get in, but evaporation can still take place. Ensure the remaining wood is free from grease, oil and all old paint and varnish remnants. For deep holes, insert non-rusting screws into the hole leaving the heads slightly proud to provide greater anchorage.

I was recently using some wet rot wood hardener, but it did not harden off, remained in a sticky state?, any clues on what to try. Ronseal recommended rubbing over some acetone, which did remove the stickyness but it was still not hard. Might be related to how much you shake the tin at the start!.

We would normally chop that window cill back a wee bit more even if it meant losing the line, dry out any existing moisture with an heat gun, treat with hardener then pop some small screws in under the surface for the filler to grip to fill and sand.

After years of using it until a couple years ago I found out Velcro is just a popular brand name. My question would be why was it that wet? Was it from rain or did the window not get flashed correctly? If it had been repaired already there is another problem that is not being addressed. Sounds like the water is not draining correctly. Wouldn’t using a heat gun have sped up the process?
