I'm using the same kit on the same car. It was stripped out by quick lube people 2 years ago. We put a sert in it then and it made it another year before it came back with the sert leaking. They replaced the entire pan and now, just last week it's back for a stripped out oil drain bolt. This is the first and hopefully last time I touch it haha, Thanks for the video, man. It was extremely helpful,

If this is such a common problem on Honda oil pans and yes I had the same thing happen to my Acura TL (J32A). Why doesn't Honda ship them from the factory with a steel TimeSert already installed?

It's only a problem if the plug is over torqued repeatedly. These pans will last forever if torqued properly. The threads are deep and quite strong

Time-Sert kits are sold on Amazon. I left express today with same issue on my 2004 Honda... I made it 20yrs w/o an issue. I used to change it myself but I lost my garage and started having express do it for last 5 yrs.

where is your shop located?

Why not just tap it right away and use a bigger drain bolt?

Bigger aftermarket plugs cause issues. this is the proper way to fix it and get it back to factory as close as possible

U should buy some 8pt sockets, then u can use your electric ratchet on the bits. It will make the job quicker in return equals more 💰 great job on that repair looks factory
