I have the WH2400i. Have started it in a few years and just tried and nothing. Took the cover apart and sprayed some starting fluid into the carb and it fires up for just a second and then dies. I'm getting fuel to the carb but I didn't take apart the carb like you did. I'm guessing the main jet is completely clogged from non use? It's basically like new bought it back in 2016 and have never really used it.

Your guess is correct, your generator’s main jet is definitely clogged. Pull the carburetor out, give it a good clean and your generator will be running like new.

Great info. Is there a way to adjust the eco mode feature to run unit a little slower. Sometimes mine runs low the next time in runs faster all with no load on. Also is there a way to quiet up the unit more.
@tacticalpowerpro2 ай бұрын
The carburetor has an idle speed adjustment screw, if it’s screwed in too far the Eco mode won’t be able to lower the speed when pressed.

The only way to make it quieter would be to hide the generator inside a generator enclosure. You could build your own or buy one like the Zombie Box or a Hudson generator box.

Hello Tactical Power Pro, great video. I have a question, in 2019 I bought a Westinghouse WH2200iXLT inverter generator identical to the one you show in your video, I took it out of the box, ran it for about 16 minutes to test it and to finish the small amount of gas I put in and then, kept it all this time inside my house (air conditioning), today, in preparation for hurricane season, (I’m in South Florida), I took it out and put a little gasoline and oil in it and followed the instructions to start it without success, I noticed that almost all the gasoline had escaped from under the inverter. Any idea what it could be? Thank you in advance. 😃😃😃

Hello! Of course I can help you out. Did you clean the main jet and the float needle inside the carburetor?
@tacticalpowerpro4 ай бұрын
Also, if the gasoline is coming out the inverter you might either have the carburetor fuel drain screw open, the float needle is stuck or a cracked fuel hose.

@@tacticalpowerpro Thank you tactical power pro for your response. As I mentioned before, when I took the inverter out of the box, I turned it on for about 15 minutes in 2019, and from there, I put it away. Yesterday (01/08/2024) I decided to turn it on and it didn't turn on and I found a puddle of gasoline under the inverter. Today I tried it again and surprise, it turned on for about 8 seconds but I it ran out of gas since I hadn't added more. (By the way, the carburetor fuel drain screw is not open) Since I am not mechanically oriented, I am going to open it and use common sense, I am going to follow the course that the gasoline takes from the tank to the carburetor to see if I see a leak, I assume that perhaps the fuel has degraded a hose or joint that bring the gasoline to the carburetor. I hope it works and thanks for your help. (Out of curiosity, do you have a video "How to repair a Ryobi inverter electric generator" in Spanish, do you speak Spanish?) 😃😃😃

@@miguelalt8855 hi Miguel, if the generator was not turned on since 2019 yo most likely have a stuck carburetor float needle. My latest videos shows what to look for in that situation. I do have a few videos en español. I was born and raised in the beautiful island of Puerto Rico. Moved to the United States in 2013 when I joined the Air Force but after 10 years I moved back to the island. Do you speak Spanish as well?
@miguelalt88554 ай бұрын
@@tacticalpowerpro Yes, I do. I am from Colombia but I came to the United States many years ago. I used to work on an Italian cruise ship and I used to go at least once a month to Puerto Rico, beautiful country and good food. Regarding the fuel leak, initially, I asked my son to put gasoline in it and I think he spilled it, I checked since yesterday and the inverter does not leak, so that is not a problem anymore. I drained the carburetor and the first fuel that came out was somewhat greenish, since then I have filled it and drain it 3 more times. I was able to start it few times for few seconds which is encouraging; a friend suggested putting in injector and carburetor cleaner or something similar, he thinks that might help to clean it. That is my next step. Thanks again Tactical P P and I will continue watching your videos, I have learned a lot so far.

I have a 3500 inverter generator, it just started doing that. Turns of buts shuts off when trying to run my pressure washer that was yesterday today it worked no problems after a couple hours it shut off and when it turns off it turns right off . Has a new spark plug njk not even a month old and oil changed as well. What can it be 🤷🏽

Does the spark plug has the correct gap?
@KingTheDetailer4 ай бұрын
@@tacticalpowerpro I'm not sure to be honest , I looked online and saw a forum where I found the njk would for instead of the standard one it came with
@tacticalpowerpro4 ай бұрын
@@KingTheDetailer the spark plug should be gapped at .8mm or 0.030in. Make sure you have gas in the tank, make sure the carburetor is completely clean and the spark arrester is not clogged.
@KingTheDetailer4 ай бұрын
@@tacticalpowerpro yeah I have a feeling it probably gonna be the carborator but I'm gonna go ahead and change the spark plug again and get a new filter . What spark plug do you recommend?
@tacticalpowerpro4 ай бұрын
@@KingTheDetailer most likely it is a carburetor issue. I recommend NGK plugs.

Glad the video was helpful! You should change the oil every 50 hours of runtime or every year, whichever happens first.

@@tacticalpowerpro is it ok if I use 10w40 instead of the recommend 15w40 ???

Neither. Use 10w-30 for the small engines on inverters, the 15w-40 is typically use on diesel engines.
