I have an older 15KW Generac with the 1.6L Fiat 4 cyl liquid cooled engine (1990's model 00607-2 ). Its shutting down due to overspeed +72hz. The stepper motor is not moving at all from start to stop. I've tested stepper from your example and it checks out. What to check next? Maybe voltage test on 5 wire stepper harness coming from the control panel? If so, how? I have On/Off/Auto switch for control of genset.

Looking for help with my MaxpeedingRods MXR6250iE Digital Inverter Generator (5000 Running Watts / 5500 Peak Watts). The motor works fine, but there’s **no power output** at all. I bought this unit last April for $1299 CAD from Walmart. I only started it a few times but never had to use it in an emergency. The issue: - Motor runs, but no electricity is produced. - I reached out to MaxpeedingRods, but no response. - Walmart also hasn’t offered any solutions. I’m really stuck here. Does anyone know how to troubleshoot this issue, or can point me to someone who can help? I’d really appreciate any advice or guidance! Thank you!

Thanks for watching my video. I can definitely try to help you out. From my experience, if an inverter generator stopped producing power then most likely it has an inverter module issue. But, I always recommend to verify that the carburetor is clean, spark plug is good and spark arrestor is not clogged. If any of these are faulty then the engine won’t be operating at the rpms needed to produce power. You mentioned the engine is working fine so I’m definitely thinking you have an inverter module issue. Verify you don’t have a loose connection at the module or if a rodent chewed wires at the inverter module (pretty common). Hope this helps.

Suena como un problema con la bobina. Pero primero verifique el nivel de aceite, si el nivel esta bajito el sensor del nivel de aceite lleva a tierra el circuito de encendido evitando que tire chispa la bobina y el generador no encienda.

Sounds like the generator ran and shutdown once it burned the fuel it had in the carburetor bowl. Check the fuel valve is not closed. I would recommend a good carburetor clean up if it hasn't been done. It could be dirty and have the float needle stuck closed preventing fuel to reach the carb.

Very proffesional made video - thanks a lot! I have a question - could it be te cause of leaking gas through an air filter chamber? There is a rubber fuse from stroke chamber to air filter and my generator gets an extra fuel that leaks through filter chamber?
@tacticalpowerpro

Thank you for watching my video. Yes! Fuel leaking out of the air filter box is also a sign of a clogged / dirty / stuck / bad float needle in the carburetor.
@tacticalpowerpro
@tacticalpowerpro 14 күн бұрын
The rubber hose you mentioned from the valve cover to the air box is a breather hose. The fuel is not coming through there, but oil can get through that breather hose and soak your air filter with oil. Specially when the generator is overfilled with oil.

Hi, I’m on off grid solar system with the same generator! Our solar inverter communicate to the generator to start or stop the generator! That was before the electric storm! So we had an electric storm, then the genorator started alone, since then we have to manually turn it off and on, if I put that screen on Auto It would immediately starts the generator but will not stop until I personally turn it off! Can you help how can we fix this? So it go back to auto operated system. Thank you in advance
@tacticalpowerpro
@tacticalpowerpro 17 күн бұрын
Hi! I can definitely help. It sounds like the generator is sensing that the “main” power (solar system in your case) is missing or is out of the parameters set in the generator controller. The pramac controller is the one that keeps track of the grid voltage and if anything goes out of the set parameters it will start the generator and won’t turn off until grid voltage is back to set parameters. Having said that, verify the “mains” voltage the generator is sensing from your solar system. Then verify the mains over voltage and under voltage parameters on the generator controller settings. For example, if your generator controller has the mains over voltage parameters set to 130v (which means, if the grid voltage goes above 130 volts it will start the generator) and your utility voltage is going over the 130v due to phase unbalance or outage the generator will start. Same the other way around, if the mains utility voltage goes under the set under voltage parameter the generator will start and won’t turn off until the grid voltage is back to set parameters of the controller. Hope this helps. Keep me updated.

Thanks for watching my video. Make sure you didn’t flooded the engine trying to start the generator. Pull the spark plug out and start the engine to let the fuel (if any) out the spark plug hole. Place the spark plug back and try to start it. Make sure the choke is closing and opening all the way when you move the start run stop switch. If it still won’t start try spraying some carburetor cleaner through the carburetor and start the generator. If it tries to start and shuts down, you have fuel restriction issues. If it doesn’t try to start at all then you have an ignition / spark problem. Hope this helps.

@tacticalpowerpro
@tacticalpowerpro 19 күн бұрын
It has happened to me before multiple times. You’ll need a new pilot jet or find a similar tiny rubber o-ring that fits. When the o-ring is missing there’s no seal in the pilot jet, letting extra air in and messing up the air/fuel ratio mixture while idling. That’s why the generator surges.

Si conectas mas cosas las horas en la pantalla bajan.

@@brianvincent8287 Oh ok so you pushed the throttle's plastic piece between the stepper motor and the carburetor. It sounds that you closed the throttle plate when you pushed it and it turned off and the click was the stepper motor gear. @tacticalpowerpro
@tacticalpowerpro Ай бұрын
Thank you for watching my video. Smoke on startup is actually pretty common and usually not a cause for concern. The slight smoke can happen for a few reasons like: - If it’s cold outside or the engine hasn’t been run in a while, it may take a few extra cranks to get fuel burning efficiently, causing a little smoke at the beginning. - Sometimes, a bit of oil might seep into the combustion chamber when the generator is off. This oil burns off quickly, causing smoke for the first few seconds. - When starting, the generator might run with a richer fuel mixture until it warms up. This can result in a little smoke due to unburned fuel in the exhaust. - If the choke is engaged (especially if it’s on too long), it can make the engine run rich and produce smoke until it’s fully open.

Yes, I’ve seen plenty of generators with less than an hour of use believe it or not with clogged main jets. Because the owners bought it new, add gas to test it and then leave the generator sitting without starting it for months. Fuel starts to deteriorate, becomes varnish and it clogs the main jets, emulsion tube, pilot jet, float and needle, everything. I recommend you follow everything I did in the video plus replace or verify the conditions of the spark plug and your generator will be running good.

@tacticalpowerpro here's a good one for you and I'm going to be pretty embarrassed to admit it if this is the case but after watching your video a second time in the very beginning it shows you reaching over to the gas cap and doing something before starting it and I have to tell you if I've had a brand new generator sitting around for a year and didn't realize the gas shut off was on the gas cap itself which is all in black I'm hard to see that it says on and off I'm going to be absolutely destroyed mentally as a man trying to start a generator. I first need to drain the gas out of it that's been sitting for a year and then I'm going to put fuel in it and if this thing fires up because I noticed it was in the off position on the gas cap I just thought it was a vent and usually a gas shut off valve is located on the gas line am I correct it's usually somewhere in the vicinity of the carburetor. Tell me what that keep it from starting if I did not have that in the on position on the gas cap? I'm pretty sure I just looked it up and it said it was a fuel shut off on the gas cap itself.
