I'm a bit surprised by this repair : it is cosmetic only, the broken fibers are still broken below the thin new layer of resin, which will break again at the lightest stress... I would have at least added a layer on the back side to help support the original part where fragilized by the cracks.

Dude you needed to add carbon on the backside, too reinforce the damage. This is not going to be as strong at all! Everything else you did right. You can still go back and add the backing. Still like the video.

hey mate.. im confused at the 6:14 epoxy resin top coat(anti uv) is same with regular epoxy resin right? if its not same can i use regular epoxy resin and use hot water to remove the bubble too? at time using hot to remove the bubble.. its not will be dry@cured right?

Hello, Buddy! They are all epoxy resins, but the topcoat is an epoxy resin with ANTI UV performance. All epoxy resins can be used to remove air bubbles using hot water. However, when the temperature of the epoxy resin increases, the curing time may be very short. Do not use hot water for too long. And you need to apply epoxy resin quickly.

Hello, Buddy!! I think the repair of the rock chip will be possible with the topcoat epoxy resin. However, using epoxy resin is difficult to sanding process. If you don't have damaged carbon fiber cloth and just want to repair the rock chip, It is the eaiest way to use a clear spray paint. I hope it will help you. Thank you for watching.

Hello, Buddy! Cracks are caused by damage to the top coat. You can remove all topcoats with sandpaper and apply new topcoats. For large parts like the hood, we recommend ANTI UV Clear Spray.

@@ECOLAPStudio I am just super scared to sand down too far to bare carbon, and disrupting the weave. I guess I'll have to try again. It was sprayed with Automotive 2k clear cloat. So I am assuming it will be fine in UV. I will be respraying with automotive 2k clear again as well! Thanks!

Hello friend. I recommend using 2K clear. If you hand lay-up large parts such as hood with epoxy resin, it will be very difficult to leveling the surface. Using 2K clear spray will make the job very simple.

안녕하세요. 저는 자전거를 취미로 하고 있는데요. 얼마전 자전거의 싯포스트 즉 안장을 지지해주는 부분의 클램프 부분이 문제가 되어 수리를 진행했습니다. 구매도 안되고 기다리려면 2달은 대기를 해야 되더군요. 힘을 받다 보니 3번의 수리에도 불구하고 문제가 발생했는데요. 4번째에 가장 완벽하게 했지만 강도가 딸리는지 시간이 지나면서 클램프부분이 또 눌리더군요. ㅠㅠ 전문가들에게 보내도 또 문제가 발생을해서 대부분 싯포 수리는 권장하지 않는다고 하더라구요. 그래서 다이를 하다 우연히 발견하게 되어 문의드립니다. 강도가 높은 에폭시가 따로 있을까요? 저는 그냥 인터넷에서 판매하는 경도가 얼마인지도 모르는 카본 에폭시를 전용이라하여 사용중에 있거든요. 진공압축 같은걸 꼭 해줘야 하는 걸까요? 너무 답답해서 문의드립니다. 다른 영상들도 좀 봐야겠지만 공부도 많이 되고 영상찍느라 고생하셨습니다.^^ 1. 싯포 즉 클램프 부분에 크랙이 발생. 2. 크랙부위를 완전히 제거 후 3K (0.2mm) 가본 수지 8겹을 겹쳐 부착 - 초기에 압착을 한답시고 에폭시를 짜내는 형태로 테이프를 감아 경화되어도 강도가 나오지 않음) 3. 혹시나 하여 내부 파이프에도 2겹을 덧방함. 4. 경화할대는 최대한 에폭시가 카본 싯트에 머물수 있도록 압착을 하지 않음. 5. 일부분에서 약간의 눌림이 있지만 더이상 진행되지 않음. * 좀더 강하게 만들고 싶습니다. 부디 도와 주세요 ㅠㅠ

안녕하세요 FRP를 사용하는데도 에폭시 레진(수지)로 작업을 하게 됩니다. 기본적인 카본과 FRP 작업은 거의 같다고 생각해도 됩니다. 제가 사용한 탑코트 역시 에폭시 레진입니다. 최종면에는 에폭시 레진을 사용해도 되고 투명 스프레이를 사용해도 됩니다. 그러나 가급적 UV 차단 기능이 있는 제품을 사용하는 것을 추천드립니다.

Well that was a waste of time and effort. Without ant structural reinforcement. Those cracked areas are just going to rattle apart again. The easiest thing he could have done, was bought some 6oz pre preg carbon fiber, wrapped the entire part with that, cured it in his oven, and viola, it's now as strong, and most likely stronger, that originally built. I knew this was not going to be a worthy vid, when he used a ratchet, and and Allen key to remove the bracket, and spun the Allen key instead of ratcheting the bolt out.
