Induction heaters, although not many people have them. Work very well when the finish is trying to be saved. Aluminum is tricky to get heat in to, you have to be careful. If you can rent one or have a friend with one, then rent it from them. Put directional pressure on the bolt. Remove your wrench/socket. Heat the bolt red hot and let it heat the aluminum. Careful here, not so hot that the bolt OR the aluminum melts. Do that a few times. While it's still hot, but not so hot as to vaporize the spray, hit it with penetrating fluid .Treat the bolt like a spring and work it back and forth. It may not feel like it's moving, but at first you are just trying to break the bond with the two metals. Put pressure on it one direction and pause. Give the energy some time to travel down the threads. Then the other way. Heat may need to be reapplied and worked for quite a while. Keep in mind the threads inside most likely are full of crud and you need to clear that out as you go. Lot's of fluid, back and forth. It might loosen and start to come, if it gets tight again just keep working it. You can also drill a small hole above or below to get some fluid to the back side of the bolt. There is a fine line between the bolt twisting or turning. Remember bolts are only rated for so many foot pounds. A torque wrench could help put a safe amount of pressure on it. Spending the time to get the bolt out in one piece is WAY better than having to deal with it when it breaks! Sorry so long, but I hope it helps someone.

In my bike the bolt broke i tried the gaswelding and heating method but the broken bolt did not came out .so,i drilled at the back of the boos and put uwasher to hold on . Does it help to keep it steady?

Nothing is stripped on the axle but the chain adjuster block holding the flat end of the axle has a big gouge in it so it keeps spinning I tried a 1 ¼ wrench and that fits perfectly around the flat end to stop it from moving but I cant seem to get it still any ideas?

im having the same problem in my bike. i didn´t went for a fix yet because im trying to collect information bout it. What kind of extractor is that? It looks so easy with that one! i can´t find anything like that, just the other ulgy and weird drills.

If you snapped an 8/10mm bolt in your swingarm, that little tiny extractor is definitely gonna snap off in there when you go to turn it

I'm working on a project bike and the issue I have is that the chain adjuster bolt (which for some reason has no locking nut) is loose but still won't come out. By loose I literally mean I can push it in and out of the swinging arm as if it were nothing but a hole. But something is stopping it from pulling out! My guess is that the previous owner tried to replace the bolt (clearly didn't know what they were doing) and bent the bolt inside the swinging arm in the process, which also ruined the thread making it loose! Not looking forward to tackling it when I come to put the wheels back on! I'm near enough finished too 😂.

Dang, that's pretty weird it won't come out. Are you going to use a heli-coil?

@@rmatvmc Yeah bud, think I'll just somehow remove the bolt and then tap it to a thread size bigger and pit a helicoil in there. Seems as though the setup is that there's a nut welded inside the swinging arm upon further inspection.

I have a yamaha mt 125 and they're seized on both sides :( they really don't want to come out. I'm just hoping I don't have to drill and tap as that can get expensive

That is a bolt extractor set. Unfortunately, we do not sell them but they can be found at most hardware stores like Ace or Home Depot.

I'm not sure exactly which kit this is but you should be able to find a similar one at your local hardware store. Or you can search online for spline screw extractor kits.

My right side bolt just broke off like a piece of cake and it looks like I need to destroy it to get it out. How important is the right side one anyway? IT looks like I need to ride without it.
