I’m goin got have to try that knuckle technique you have for holding the trowel. I’ve recently switched from standard knives to using a 10 and 12 inch trowels and find the control to be a bit tougher to learn after many years of using the standard knives. Great vid!

Ah, knives to trowels - you won't regret it. Yes, the trowel is harder to learn, but easier than knives once you get the hang of it. Also, spare no expense on trowels. Higher the quality, the better you'll trowel. Thanks for watching!

Very helpful info on technique and material, Shayne. What is the length of that pool trowel? I need one!

Hey WorldCommander (that’s what my wife calls me!) - in this video, I used a 16” Curry Pool Trowel. It’s perfect for drywall. Not so much for plaster work though. Hope this helps!

Can you go more into the “into your work not away” in a video just showing what that means
@plasterdrywallbyshaynebeda4503 Жыл бұрын
Glad you asked - when your applying any sort of plaster or drywall compounds - example, if you're starting from the left side with your first stroke, your second stroke should come from the right side and 'into your work'. Never 'away from your work'. I'll try to remember to speak to this more clearly in future videos. Thanks for watching, Shayne

How much would a repair this size cost?
@plasterdrywallbyshaynebeda45032 жыл бұрын
Hi Yoyo, I would probably ask for $1,000 to do this repair. Thanks for asking and hope this helps, Shayne
