You just saved me! It's almost midnight here and I discovered a puddle on the floor by our refrigerator. I looked up and saw the ceiling had a medium-paced leak and the paint was bubbled. I immediately went into the attic and found the water tubing going to the fridge had sprung a couple pin-hole leaks. I tried some of that special Leak Seal tape that did NOT work. I also tried 'Alien Tape' which also didn't work. I then found your video about using electrical tape and I taped that thing up good! I'm happy to say, there are no leaks coming out from any of the seams. So I have time to get a replacement tube without worrying the ceiling will drop. Thanks man!

One big tip not mentioned in the video: Instead of just drying your hose, wipe it down really good with something like isopropyl AKA rubbing alcohol. This will clean it very well to ensure your tape gets the best seal possible. If there's dirt or any kind of grease residues, the tape's seal won't last very long.

Try adding superglue cyanoprecipitate compound on the pinhole then adding the tape on top of it....let it cure for a few hours before turning on water...should reinforce as many holes as that hose will ever be punctured with for the life duration of the hose

Use silicone tape first then cover it with electrical tape that will make a much better & more durable waterproof seal.

Theres rubber tape or mastic tape. Epoxy tape . You can tape it with hvac 557 tape or normal ducttape and just wrap a string around it

What I’ll recommend you is at first, put an extra teflon tape on it and then recover it with rubber tape. Probably, you’ll get better results.

This electrical tape method will not work with a line under pressure. If you're like me and like to keep your hose open with a spray stop end to grab and water, then with your hose pressurized, the pinhole leak that I tapped up exactly like in this video easily pushed the water out. It might work when the water is running, but then again I don't think it was a lot of water loss anyways when the water was open. Use the cut and clamp method for best results. Save your tape :)

No, it won't hold outdoors. Electrical tape won't last. You need to put uv resistant tape, or fix it properly using hose clamps

Ed R - Hook up the hose to a water source plug the other end of the hose with your thumb and with your other hand turn in the water if you do all that I’m sure you’ll find it... Caution ⚠️ attempt to try this at home may lead to you getting soaking wet and it can pose a possible slip and fall hazard try at your own risk.

IMO. This is a little misleading because what's not being shown here is the "Nozzle". Most people have a nozzles on their garden hose. Having a nozzle causes a great deal of water pressure on the repaired area resulting in the water bursting through the tape and causing a new hole. I've tried a few different types of tapes with strong plastics and received the same results, which is a new hole. The jury is still out on this type of fix IMO.

Wow! Another misleading video! The only truth about this vid is the line..."now that you wasted all this electrical tape" First, the leak would not even be noticed if it was not pressurized. If no nozzle attached, then no pressure in hose and the water wouldn't be squirting out from the hole. Second, when testing a repair, the same conditions that produced the issue should be used when testing the repair. The nozzle attached to the hose produces the leak, the nozzle should be attached again to test the repair. Even for TEMPORARY repairs!

😂😂😂😂 OMG .. "And now that you wasted all this electrical tape" You just took a VERY stressful situation.. Something I been dealing with for a few weeks.. And made me laugh. A pin hole in my hot water hose under kitchen sink. Kicker is.. The hot water valve won't shut off! 🤗 perfect right? Lol. It's tight and stil a fountain from the hole. No access to main water shutoff.. Long story short.. Few weeks of Flex Seal Tape.. Duct tape.. Retaping 3 x .. Emptying 5 gallon buckets every few hours.. I bought electrical tape today. And was looking up vids. Between this and the added "piece of rubber (anything will do) and jubilee clip fix.. Ill be good for a temp fix! Yay! 🙏. Here's hoping for the best. Off now to fix.
