Thanks very much. Excellent repair video for an old but otherwise perfectly good speaker just in need of some minor repairs and TLC. Don't be wasteful and lazy, be like this man and fix things and save some money and keep a great old speaker working for another 20 years!

Can i take off the old paper surrounding and replace it with a foam surrounding? I hace a pair of old alnico speakers and the paper surrounding is almost gone. How can i improve the bass for those old speakers? Do You think that with a foam surrounding will sound better?

You will completely change the properties of those speakers. Do this only if it's last resort and you don't mind damaging the speakers.

I would have been interested to see the fs of the speaker determined before and after to see if it really made no difference to the flexibility.

I think this special formula is required.

No elmers will make it stiff as elmers dries much harder than this stuff
