Listen, here's the deal. I bought a new LG dryer a year ago, was throwing D80/D90/D95 codes after a few weeks. I live in a newer condo. For shizz n giggles, I've taken apart the lint screen and assembly, I've cleaned thoroughly the vent from dryer to wall (non kinked), vaccumed out up inside the wall ductwork (nothing much, again, newer construction). I keep seeing advice given to folks to "check this, check that, inspect your outside flapper, look at your screens"....C'mom!!! Now, I could legitimately see this as an outlier case, the very few folks who have a genuinely clogged or obstructed venting system which should rightly generate a "D error". But for hundreds of peeps, countless folks on many a forum to complain about the same? Ummm...it's the dryer, people. It's LG. To note, I had a GE dryer prior, simple, no bells or whistles, dried my clothes like a champ, same condo I live in now. Matter of fact, I'm 60, have had MANY a dryer, and this is the FIRST time I've owned a dryer that evidently "thinks it's a NASA shuttle orbiter with avionics and electronics that need delicately calibrated for and re-entry." So I shitcanned the two year old LG, bought a simpler Whirlpool.....and been drying clothes like noones buisness since. Shame on LG as a simple example, see this: www.reddit.com/r/Appliances/comments/11nwshm/help_to_remove_flowsense_d80_entirely_from_lg/

I bought LG last week and immediately had the same issue. I'm thinking about returning it to Costco. Never had issue with old whirlpool dryer. Update: after called costco several times and wait for 10 days. I finally returned LG dryer, and bought a GE dryer from costco. Now this GE dryer works like a charm, never gave me any headache.

Thank you for this video! I removed the lint trap apparatus and was amazed at how much lint was stuck under there. I got it all cleaned out and now the dryer works like new again.

Before getting my new dryer I cleaned out the duct work with the sweep (hooked up to drill and shop vac) From the beginning it would through that D95 code ONLY WHEN DRYING TOWELS) Clothes it never happens. Even on manual timed mode it will throw the D95 code. Again works great in clothes, towels it’s about a 4 start every time. The dryer looks really pretty it just doesn’t dry towels

Thanks for the comment! I would recommend trying to dry 1 towel alone at first then increase to 2 towels, 3,4,etc. Are the towels extra soft or plush or new? It could be that there is just too many towels and the towels are some how blocking the vent causing the machine to think it’s a d95 code. Let me know what you find out with the single towel.

@@Theocdrepairman I will try that but nah maybe 3 pretty soft towels and maybe a dozen washcloths. Definitely not overloading it. By any means. I would assume if the vent had any blockage (which it was cleaned and dryer brand new) it would do it while drying clothes, it doesn’t. I actually love what it does for clothes. Towels it truly sucks

These LG dryers are garbage. That sensor needs to be disabled and removed. Google all the ppl posting about this issue, many of which have brand new homes and direct vent to the external wall with zero obstructions. LG uses the excuse that the vent is blocked and therefore, absolves themselves from any liability for repair. Ours is one year-old and I’m replacing it for a simple dryer that actually works.

Have you run into an issue where it throws the code even after you have cleaned the duct work? I have two machines that keep giving the code so the customer just uses timed dry.
@Theocdrepairman Жыл бұрын
Yes that has happened to me one time. In that case the problem was at the exterior of the building where the vent duct work terminates. This building had a poorly designed flapper door at the end of the duct on the exterior of the building. I simply altered the flapper so that it didn’t get caught up and the problem was solved. I would reccomend a few things. Verify the machine is in fact cleaned out 100% by going in and vacuuming EVERYTHING out through the duct of the machine and through the front like in the video. Then go outside and verify the duct work has a functioning exit point. If you still have a problem you may want to get a duct sweeper and clean out the ducting in the wall. Finally the least likely situation is a problem with the control board or what ever sensor sets that code off. Thank for your question! There could be an animal or a nest in the duct work near the exterior of the building

What can you do if your dryer is brand new? I shouldn’t be getting these codes
@Theocdrepairman Жыл бұрын
I would investigate where the dryer vent meets the outside of your house, maybe the problem lies with the venting rather than the machine either at the exterior of the building or into the wall where your dryer is. I will also say it seems like these LG machines set this code often as a safety measure. You can look down the rear vent or down the lint filter with the filter removed before getting into it to verify there is lint buildup. Good luck. Maybe contact LG for refund.

New washer, spent $280 to have my second story duct cleaned. Lint trap is clean and tubing out of dryer into wall is clean from what I can see. Any other ideas?
@Theocdrepairman6 ай бұрын
I would check the vent cover where the duct work exits the building. These usually have covers that can be damaged or blocked by weather or animals. Also Is the duct from the machine kinked in any way?. Also you need to put a vacuum into the back of the dryer and verify all the lint is out of dryer from the back duct. I know the machine is new, but there may be a single blockage inside.

Ugh... Dryer is all clean, just moved to a new house with a roof vent no a side vent and im getting this error... Any suggestions?
@Theocdrepairman11 ай бұрын
Thanks for the comment! Please subscribe. Is the duct work behind the machine going to the wall cleaned and not kinked? I would inspect the venting going to the roof for obstruction at the roof vent on the roof. Also for obstruction in the ducting going to the roof in the walls.

Remember if this process doesn’t solve the problem. There is likely an obstruction in the duct work in the wall or at the outside vent cover.

Just bought a new LG dryer. This is the 4th load and I’ve got the d90 blinking. Ridiculous

I would suspect an issue with the duct work (needs to be cleaned) in the wall or the vent on the outside of your building may be obstructed

What happens when I do this and it’s still giving me error codes? Went through all the effort and cleaned EVERYTHING and not a day later it gave me d80. Just today it gave me a d90. I’m wondering if there lint stuck deeper in the dryer or if I have a faulty sensor
@Theocdrepairman11 ай бұрын
Please subscribe! If you cleaned out the machine via front lint catcher and via back vent duct. The blockage is likely in the duct work in the wall/ceiling going to exterior of building or the blockage is where the vent terminates on the exterior vent of the duct work (side or roof of your house/apartment). Sometime lint collect on the roof vent or animals makes nests. It is likely the duct work after the dryer if you cleaned the dryer thourougly.

@@Theocdrepairman EVERYTHING was cleaned. Duct work. The whole 9 and it’s still giving issues. Debating on just replacing but that’s $800 for a damn dryer. Just wanted to see if a sensor could be going bad.
@Theocdrepairman11 ай бұрын
@@hypernexoius3000 it could be the sensor I think it’s simply a temperature sensor (thermostat) which could go bad (or even the control board could be bad also though unlikely). You could run the machine with the duct work unconnected from the dryer and see what it does to absolutely rule out the duct work/roof vent. The few times I have seen this code it was always an obstruction but yours could be different and the sensor may be bad.
