replace the voltage regulators with LM7805. had my 16.4.2 kept freezing up and sent it back to presonus for about $350 total a few years ago. said they replaced the board but they only replaced the voltage regulators with the same lame voltage regulators. 2 years later board freezes again, now prosonus says board out of service and wont fix it. found a guy to actually replace voltage regulators with beefier LM7805. so far no problems a few months in. good luck. dont have to toss a board where no parts can be salvaged. crazy design that they become disposable.

Muy buen video, solo que tengo una consulta, no se si sea normal, pero compré una consola de estás usada y como a los 30 min activa se calienta mucho según mi punto de vista, y el dueño anterior dice que en ocasiones dejaba de mandar audio del Main, eso no me a pasado, pero en dado caso, cuál sería el problema y como saluvionarlo?. Si se necesita comprar un módulo completo en dónde lo podría encargar?. De ante mano muchas gracias.

Yo la revise así superficialmente y lo que se calienta primero es la fuente de poder, pero no la revise a profundidad, solo fue superficial

Lo más importante es modificar la parte del regulador DC-DC del módulo DSP, reemplazándolo con el LM7805 IC (ver minutos de video 2:38 a 3:18). el sonido se pierde a veces no hay ninguna causa que el regulador de DC-DC sea inestable. kzbin.info/www/bejne/a4iconZ4p5l_qLs

if the fire wire module is malfunction/damaged so far I have replaced it with a complete firewire module, because the factory only provides that part. and if later I can repair the module, I'll share it on my KZbin channel.

Hi, I have a SL 16.4.2, I will be buying the IC 7805 as per your recommendation. But just before i buy, I just have a question and I hope to get an answer from you :) I have a problem with AUX 1. The volume level is sometimes okay, but then after a few minutes the volume will suddenly drop a little bit, then go up again, then drop again.. Do you think i should also check or replace the pots inside AUX 1? Or the IC 7805 should fix the problem? Thank you again for your content, I really appreciate your posts.

Problem about AUX you should also replace the capacitor 4.7uf 6.3V in the DSP module, there are 24 pcs. and If you have free time, it's better if you replace all the capacitors with metal bodies in the DSP Module. because if the use is over 5-6 years this capacitor will be damaged so that symptoms will appear abnormal symptoms in the master or Aux outputs

@@kelvincortez3283 in the DSP module there is a flexible cable that is connected to the LCD. be careful when disassembling this mixer, do not damage this cable

Buenas, tengo una 16.4.2 hace como 10 años. Los reguladores de FAT CHANNEL me rotan solo, no fisicamente, sino que en las ganancias, frecuencias, me suben o bajan solo ( por lo general tienden a bajar mas que a subir ), no solo una perilla, sino en casi todas. En general siento que están duras los reguladores rotativos ( creo que son encoders y no potenciometros ), se le puede echar lubricante tipo W40 ? Porque usé un limpiacontacto ecologico de contacmatics tipo CO2, pero no sirvieron para nada, me los endurece mas por el frio pero despues no me corrigen el problema. saludos !

This looks similar to my 16.0.2, and after replacing the voltage regulators, i was flabbergasted by the fact that the only connector that the BNC "lamp" connector's cord can reach, is a ground pin on the chassi. WHAT?

as chek R10 ohm 10 module I have to chek I can explain why I changed ic 7580 but channel 1a 4 is great from 5 to 16 ta as if gaining ta high there enters wheezing and there is no way to lower the channels

it is certain the cause of the damage is from the DSP module, I will try to find another part to replace the IC 7805. I'll let you know later
