Yup. I've been through two of them now, both having broken in the same place. My third one just started having problems with the LMB, so I thought I'd watch this video for ideas.

Just completed this replacement successfully. My replacement switch didn't have a "cross" pattern where the scroll wheel contacts the switch, only a single line, so I'm concerned about how consistent the click action will be as time goes on. After the initial solder I also realized the new switch was sitting a little too high, and I needed to lower it closer to the board for the mouse wheel to sit more level and scroll click to behave as expected. Prior to lowering the click would misfire when rapid scrolling. Thanks for the repair video, now my favorite mouse is like new.

I've had two broken middle clicks now. The first one Mionix were nice enough to replace even though the mouse was technically out of warranty. The replacement is the one struggling now. Been using contact cleaner to okay effect, but sometimes it gets really inconsistent and only lasts for a few dozen clicks. At this point I'm looking into just replacing it instead..

Was yours completely broken or did you have to press it real hard? Cause mine works but it required a firm slap to the butt! Thanks anyway

I had exactly the same problem with my Avior 8200. So far this video helped me disassemble the mouse without damaging it and in my case cleaning and pushing the switch a few times with my thumb and some force (not too much of course) did the trick. Good to know i can easily replace that switch in case it stops working again.

Thank you! I've just ordered the switches from the provided Ebay link. I'm experiencing the same problem that I have to press the middle button hard to register the click. I am very glad I found your video, the mouse is excellent otherwise.

I would very much like to know what you used to reattach the mouse pads? The original glue is all but dried up on mine and the pads themselves got all wonky when I pulled them off. Can I use tape or regular glue? And can I flatten them in some way before I reattach them?
@mikey631
@mikey631 4 жыл бұрын
I was able to re-use the same pads, and the glue was still okay. the plastic pads did get a little bent out of shape, but you can use a heat gun or maybe a hair dryer to soften the plastic little bit right before you put them back on.

Perhaps it's a bit late but you may buy replacement feet/glides on the mionix webpage and guess from other stores too.

my mionix naos 7000 started showing symptoms of middle click not functioning today for the first time after like 3 years of use, I don't have a soldering kit but I think I'll get one to try this fix, gonna try to find a way to get the switches more locally though, I don't feel like paying 15 dollars import costs for a 2.5 dollar item.

I don't know if they advertise 20m actuations on main 2 buttons lever switches or whatever they use, or all of the microswitches as well. But I thought that it was way too early to disassemble it. Since even my last mouse only died because plastic rubbed off and switches weren't actuating every 5th time. Back to current mouse, I just tapped middle button with my finger real hard and it started working again. Maybe the membrane got stuck. Mouse is Avior 7000 btw.

@mikey631
@mikey631 7 жыл бұрын
Absolutely take it apart! it's pretty easy, and you'll know for sure what kind of switch you need. The the left/right click switches on the main part of the mouse are different than the scroll wheel switch, so yours might be different depending on which switch needs to be changed.

I wonder if other people have a similar problem to me. Ever since my mouse was new, the middle mouse button click would stick. Now I can't even mouse wheel scroll without it clicking accidentally or sticking down. It is so aggravating that I can't use the wheel without having to click 2 or 3 more times to "unclick" the middle mouse wheel.

Test the middle click right after you take the cover off. Mine had the exact same issue but turns out it just had some built up hair wrapped around the axis, which caused some gunk to build around the wheel. Fixed itself the second I took the cover off!

Hey, I'm wondering how you managed to desolder the switch. My right mouse button switch broke and I've recently bought new switches but I'm not able to desolder the old one from the PCB. Any tips and tricks? I've tried a desoldering pump without success
@mikey631
@mikey631 7 жыл бұрын
I just used a solder sucker, though it did take a few tries to get all the solder out, and even then, it needed a little help from my pair of pliers to get it out all the way.
@Luniii737
@Luniii737 7 жыл бұрын
You can also use a desoldering braid. It would look like this: onetesla.com//media/wysiwyg/solder_wick_1.png - This makes the solder stick on this braid, removing the solder that way.

My mouse's middle button is not working and when went to a PC hardware repairing shop, they said that i should better buy a new mouse because if an engineer repaires the mouse he will already charge 200 to 300 rupees i.e. the cost of a new mouse. I didn't want to waste my money for a little fix for the middle button, so i watched this video. But this is very hard, Still i will try

Try adding a single drop of 3-in-1 oil onto the middle mouse switch before attempting to do this. It fixed my issues completely on my naos 7000 when i thought the switch was dead.
@Astrothunderkat
@Astrothunderkat 3 жыл бұрын
you drop it on top?
@SynysterCondom
@SynysterCondom 3 жыл бұрын
@@Astrothunderkat yes when you get to 1:23 , apply a single drop directly on top of the little white part of the switch and gently click the mouse button repeatedly to make sure it gets inside. If it doesn't work, you can repeat but it's safe to say it's dead. But yeah haven't had any problems with this method in over a year now. The only con (or pro) of doing this fix is the switch is a little quieter but it works perfectly
