At Drivenmad, we repair, maintain and upgrade vehicles in our workshop, here in the sunny Algarve, Portugal.
Most things are our first go ! so remember, experts we are not ! so watch us do it wrong, so you don't have too :)
Having hundreds of kilometres of dirt roads, dirt tracks and various hills with ruts on our doorstep, we venture out and test our 4x4’s to the limit (our limit, not theirs  )
When we can get one, we will slip in a vehicle review, along with some product testing - who does not want to know which tyre stops the best ?
So subscribe and join our journey as we modify, test and improve our cars in as many ways as possible.
You must love the tunes - so make sure to check out “Death Of Guitar Pop” for some awesome music!

Have you ever heard of an XTrail T31 getting stuck in 4WD. No flashing lights on dash but it is driving rough after a slave cylinder replacement.

Sorry, cannot give you an answer from factual experience to narrow it down - all I can find is this generic lot : The Nissan X-Trail T31 can get stuck in 4WD (four-wheel drive) mode for several reasons. Here are some common causes: Faulty 4WD Switch or Selector: If the switch or selector that controls the 4WD mode is malfunctioning, it may not send the correct signal to the 4WD system to disengage. Electrical Issues: Problems with the vehicle's electrical system, such as a blown fuse or a faulty wiring connection, can prevent the 4WD system from functioning properly. Transfer Case Problems: The transfer case is responsible for distributing power between the front and rear wheels. Mechanical issues within the transfer case, such as worn or damaged components, can cause it to get stuck in 4WD mode. Actuator Failure: The actuator is a component that engages and disengages the 4WD system. If the actuator fails, it may not be able to switch the system out of 4WD. Control Module Issues: The control module that manages the 4WD system could have a software or hardware malfunction, leading to the system being stuck in 4WD. Vacuum or Hydraulic Problems: Some 4WD systems use vacuum or hydraulic pressure to engage and disengage. Leaks or failures in these systems can cause the 4WD to stay engaged. Sensor Issues: The 4WD system relies on various sensors to determine the appropriate mode. If a sensor is faulty or providing incorrect data, the system may stay in 4WD. Mechanical Linkage Problems: Mechanical linkages that engage and disengage the 4WD system can become stuck or damaged, preventing proper operation. Troubleshooting Steps Check the 4WD Switch: Inspect and test the 4WD switch for proper operation. Replace if necessary. Inspect Fuses and Wiring: Check all related fuses and wiring connections for any signs of damage or corrosion. Examine the Transfer Case: Look for any signs of wear or damage in the transfer case. A professional mechanic may need to inspect and repair it. Test the Actuator: Verify that the actuator is functioning correctly. Replace if it is faulty. Scan for Error Codes: Use an OBD-II scanner to check for any error codes that might indicate a problem with the 4WD system. Check for Vacuum/Hydraulic Leaks: Inspect the vacuum or hydraulic system for any leaks or damaged components. Inspect Sensors: Test and replace any sensors that are not working correctly. Examine Mechanical Linkages: Check the mechanical linkages for any signs of wear or damage and repair as needed.

When green light flashing, it means the High 4X4 activated when not selected.

Usually yes. But in my case the gearing all works fine but the light kept flashing. 2H 4H and 4L all worked fine.
