How to replace a 2008-2017 Mitsubishi lancer fender

Hopefully, you successfully removed your fender and should have no problem installing it. Just work your way backward on this video if you do. The fender replacement is pretty simple but it does require you to remove the headlight and to do so, you have to remove the front bumper. TOOLS NEEDED:
A 10mm wrench or socket wrench. A Philips screwdriver, a panel clip removal tool or a flat-head screwdriver also works well.
PROCESS:
Let's get started. In order to get this fender off, you have to remove the headlight. There are a few bolts that you need to get to and to do so, you have to remove the front bumper. Please visit the link above or click on the video card for the Lancer front bumper removal. Once the bumper is off, you can remove the headlight attached to the fender. Our headlight was broken in the accident, so it was pretty easy for us. There is a bolt that attaches to the longer vertical bracket on the fender that we missed because the headlight broke due to the accident. Remove all the fender bolts and on the bottom and top. They are pretty easy to spot and get to. There are a few bolts near the door that are a bit trickier. First, detach the fender liner from the fender. There are a couple bolts behind the fender liner closest to the door. There is also a bolt that you have to remove from the cabin. You will also need an extension to reach it. We have a couple short ones and a ridiculously long one. You don't need the one we used but you can combine your smaller ones. We also did not see a plastic pin holding the fender on the same side towards the top of the fender. The Lancer has a plastic cover or accent piece on the fender that covers a bolt as well. Lastly, there is a bolt under the windshield cowl cover. Once everything is off, you can remove the fender and transfer all the accessories over. There are a few clips, the bumper retainer/bracket, the long fender bracket, and the side marker. Now you can install the fender back onto your vehicle. This should be pretty easy since you just removed the fender. Work your way backward and you should be just fine. Let us know if you would like us to make the install video.

Hi thanks for the tutorial.I have an outlander which has been repaired at some point. The front wing is not aligned properly and it bows out from the car down the shut line with the door. I would imagine it's very similar in fitting to the one in your video. Would I be able to loosen it and move its position slightly to get a better fit? or are they non-adjustable. Hello Paul! Thank you for watching and yes, it would be very similar. If there was an accident, make sure to check frame and fire wall to if anything is bent. Once you take off the fender and the frame is bent, it will not fit correctly until you realign the frame. Assuming it's just the fender, you can just adjust the screws and placement.

Hello. Your video is very interesting. I have a problem that maybe you can help me with. My lancer suffered a small frontal impact, the bumper was repaired and reinstalled, but there has always been a small angled gap in the line that separates the fender and the bumper, as if it were slightly hung but it has been difficult for the tinsmiths to put it back to line up. Do you have any suggestion?

Hello. I would try and realign the fender. Loosen the bolts and try to push it in or forward so the gap is better. You should also check the bumper bracket/retainer to see if that is broken. Thank you for watching!

Great question. I would double check on the Lancer forums for more expert help. The fender look to be the same shape as well as the headlights and hood. I think the only difference is the fender has the vents. It's possible but we're not 100% sure. Thanks for watching!

Hello! We'd love to but we haven't go one in for repairs. I don't think it's the same but all fenders for most cars are normally engineered the same way. The bolts and clips will be in the same place, more or less and they might be different sizes. Good luck and thanks for watching!

@@mr.porkiepants9306 front fender on lancer/ evo forrum can possibly be done. and it is confirmed. rear fender is no chance but can manage to buy aftermarket fenders to match it with evo x fender. I saw some youtuber from austin texas "Jmedia" you could check hes lancer gt build.

Hello! The model range for the fenders and hood (2017) are from 2008-2015. However, that does not mean it fits the EVO or sportback fenders. Also, the bumpers for the various models change in that model range. For example the DE and GTS are different but still go with the same hood, fenders and headlight on the non-eveo/sportback models. You may be able to swap the GTS and maybe Eveo fenders but we recommend you check the lancer forums. Thank you for watching!
