Thanks, I just replaced battery at my wife's Vivoactives. Gluing battery with a slice of double side stick tape wont be a bad idea to prevent any potential movements of battery during activities. I will do it before I re-glue the watch again.

Good point! I haven't done it because the battery was sitting tight in place, I figured it should be alright.

What glue did you use?

The battery connector does not slide out of its seat horizontally. It has tabs on the side of the connector that prevent it from doing so. Instead, the connector lifts up and out of its seat. I used a pair of tweezers to lift the end where the wires connect, up and then out of the seat at a 45 degree angle. It can be difficult to lift the connector directly up out of its seat, as the seat is not fimly attached to the base of the watch and I didn't want to pull it loose from its ribbon connection. Install the new battery connector in reverse order.

Thanks, helped me in 2 ways, my watch and that glue...my phone has a really tricky seal in it, so hard to fit they send you 6 , the glue kills that job :)

Disassembling the bazel from the back cover requires power. Overheating may damage the watch.

Nice video. But i think the battery rating is 160mah, no?
@PulsarTECHАй бұрын
Hi, the original one was 160mAh but the one I've got says 300mAh, though the watch cannot charge it more than 160mAh anyway.

READ comments about removing battery plug below from M Boling I quote " .............. It has tabs on the side of the connector that prevent it from doing so. Instead, the connector lifts up and out of its seat. I used a pair of tweezers to lift the end where the wires connect, up and then out of the seat at a 45 degree angle. " Trying to pull the plug out is a disaster and cost me my watch.

That's right. Of all the videos I've seen, no one actually showed how they removed the battery connector. I also messed up the connector a bit, but luckily, it's nothing a soldering iron can't fix.

Good video but too much work I'm going to be like the typical American and throw mine away and get another one. It lasted 3 years. I'm going to stick with Garmin though.

I understand, sorry to hear that. Hope you find a good watch!

As my second Garmin product to have a battery die, and over $800 to replace them, I'd rather try this before replacing. Such a waste in the electronics industry.
@PulsarTECH7 ай бұрын
@@margie3675 I agree, it's always better to save it then throw it to the dumpster. Good luck!
