doublewide6 Repairs LLC thanks For the heads up. I’ve used them many times with zero issues. I’ve got them on my personal mowers as well. It sucks that you’ve had bad luck with them. What failures are you experiencing?

This is the best Ferris belt replacement tutorial out there. Thanks for the help. I will add that after doing this belt replacement, I found it much easier to route the belt after I removed the seat frame from the pivot bolts. That’s not really easy to do but unless you have a lift it’s really hard to see through the deck to route the belt. Also, the spring clamp trick is worth using on the front right spindle pulley as well as the rear main.

Spent $84 at the shop for a new belt at the shop today and just saw this video. Oh well. Hopefully can save a little money and learn myself from this video. Thanks for putting it together!

I have had no problems with the D&D belts. The Kevlar belts are made for outdoor use and have lasted a long time on many different mowers that I have fixed for people.

I agree. All the naysayers about these belts must not be installing them correctly

We have the IS3000Z. Having problems with belt popping off. We redid pulley setting and several adjustments concerning the pulleys. Question, how many tension springs are there on these? I'm asking because we have the tension spring where you demonstrated using the ratchet to release tension. However we have another spring that looks like a cigar shake, approximately 7 in Long. It does not have the extension and loop coming off of it as the spring in your video. We pulled up a schematic of the 61-in deck and everything is accounted for. However we were thinking that there had to have been another tension spring back towards the motor's pulley system. Thanks for your videos and if you could reach back to me with some knowledge I would greatly appreciate it.

Can I buy a mule belt for my mower from you or through your store? If so please tell me the part# to order. I have a Snapper Pro S175X; part# 5900938. Thanks. Great video!
@THEMOWERMEDIC13 жыл бұрын
That 590 number you supplied is not a good number. They are showing two different belts for that mower, one belt is 182.5 inches long and the other belt is 184.9 inches long so a measurable difference with a tape measure will be needed
@stevemeade60723 жыл бұрын
@@THEMOWERMEDIC1 The 5900938 is Snapper's part# for the machine itself. The part# for the belt I think is 5104063, which is the shorter belt. I think the longer belt is part# 5102269. I wont know which one I have until I remove and measure it. Will let you know as soon as I do. Thank you

Jeremy, I tightened my belt as tight as possible and have used it for the past 3 days. I just finished mowing about 5 acres this evening. Since I'm caught up I went ahead and removed my belt. I then measured the outside circumference with a string and got around 182". I was expecting it to be longer than that but this is my first rodeo and I'm most likely doing something wrong. I'm guessing the part # that I'm looking for would be Snapper Pro part# 5104063. I would prefer to get a D&D belt like you showed in this video if possible. Any help from you would be greatly appreciated sir. Thank you in advance, Steve

D&D belts suck, i own a lawn mower shop and have used D&D in the past and tend to steer clear of them, i've had problems ranging from incorrect size to bad quality, always use OEM or certified aftermarket belts from reputable aftermarket suppliers for example Rotary,Stens & Oregon. I have found that PIX belts are similar in price to D&D and far better quality, PIX is what i mainly use, or Oregon & Rotary. Sometimes cheaper is not always best especially when it comes to a belt.
