I’ve read you have to keep the battery running via obd port with extra 12v battery in order for the cpu to not reset and cause more issues. Is this step completely necessary for my 2016 Corolla? I can’t find any info on it.

@backyardchevy328

Ive honestly never liked the memory savers, it can risk damaging ur vehicles computer...if replaced quick enough itll still store all the computers memory so it wont affect that aspect of it..but it will lose preset stations...ive only had to repair one toyota camry that had a problem after replacing the battery..someone at autozone replaced a battery for a friend of mine and it would shut off..randomly..and to fix that i needed to clean the throttle body and after that it was back to normal.
