I have almost the same pads as you and only one of them has that little metal piece thingy on the side what is that for? Am i only supposed to have one like that? Is it to make the (squealing noise when the pads wear down??) im assuming its whats that for? But i guess my question is do i only need to have one of them ? I installed it on the rear passenger side just like in the video

I don’t have much experience working on cars but I did this fine with the info in the video. If you’re worried about trying this just go for it. As long as you have snips, heatgun/blow driver, needle nose pliers, and socket set you’re pretty much good.

Great video but still took me way too long. GOod thing i decided to do it on a sunday. Kept hearing something grinding when i'd drive. Then i haD a squishy brake pedal. FIgured out the grinding but the pedal still isnt great. I'll adjust it some other day or bleed the lines.

You should also reseal the distributor hole plug and the half moon sections with RTV silicone while here. Or you’ll be doing it again like I did.

I installed new Dorman. Bought AC delco and Napa sensors. All six sensors do not pass the voltage test. What are the chances? Something can't be right here.

Or you could hold the lock/unlock button on your car key fob for 10 seconds, if you're opening the car and hold unlock, after about 10 seconds the driver side window will open. If you're locking the car with any window open, holding the lock button for 10 seconds will lock the car and close any open windows. This works on most cars with electric windows. This would be a quicker way to test if the motor isn't working. Work smart, not hard people!

Mine got the code, I replaced the purge valve and it still throws p0497(2005 civic LX). Driving highway it doesn't come on. Only driving around town. Could the new purge valve have been bad or is there another issue?

For your Honda Odyssey, do you jack up the front using the tow hook near the center front and place the jack stands on the exposed plate along the pinch weld? Thanks.

How often should these spark plugs be replaced. I recently bought an ‘03 Toyota Tacoma with about 135k miles on it and everything works fine, it’s my backup vehicle. But I’m wondering what time of preventative maintenance I should look into doing. Thanks.

This was extremely helpful to me. My 2001 Honda Odyssey was intermittently not cranking for months, then one day it stopped altogether. After some troubleshooting I narrowed it done to the starter / starter solenoid assembly. The battery mount was quite difficult to get out. I had to buy a 12 mm ratchet wrench and access the lower rear bolt from the wheel well just as you showed in the video. The bolt is fairly close to the wheel well, up in the front corner. I was able to find it by feel. I also had a very difficult time removing the cable clips on the back side of the battery mount. They did not come off easily. I finally had to pry on the latch with a small screwdriver. A breaker bar was necessary to get the starter bolts loosened.
