I just got a 2ds from the second-hand store, beat up without stylus and no charger for $20. Got home and used my 3ds charger and both screens are cracked. Thanks for you video, I will now go on ebay and get some replacement parts and follow this video!!! Wish me luck!!!

I cracked my screen because my mom suddenly slammed my door open and I was so startled I stepped on my screen and heard a horrifying cracking sound. It's even worse because my whole screen is black, the sound is broken, and I can't buy a new screen on eBay. My mom is a total jerk.

I am doing a shell swap and screen replacement. I noticed that their is some sort of screen protector for the touch screen with a ribbon cable. I now know that's the touch digitizer, I think? Is it neccesary to keep that? My shell I bought didn't come with it so should I take it from the other system? Please respond asap.

SCP-999 same here :( trying to pop the plastic up to get the ribbon out the plastic broke and trying to get it back in place those tiny nails go inside tiny holes, well one of those broke so now it’s dead.

Make sure all the ribbon cables are plugged in all the way. Especially the one in the bottom right. Make sure it is not crooked either. Good luck!

So close yet so far, when taking the right bottom corner ribbon the tiny gray plastic plate that holds it down broke, I was able to change the screen and put it back together but it doesn’t turn on, most likely because there’s no pressure on that ribbon 😔

Oh yep that is the power flow. I had an issue as well where it wasn’t in all the way. In your case, maybe there is a way to keep it in place. Electrical tape or something similar? Good luck!

Games We Like well the thing is that when I was trying to fix it I broke one of those tiny nails that go inside that gray plastic clasp 😢 I think there’s 4 and now there’s 3 of those “nails”

If it makes a pop sound when you try to turn it on and it doesn’t work, then a ribbon cable might be loose. Try to make sure they are in all the way. Be careful not to damage the cables.

I’d suggest googling “how to remove stripped screws” and then find replacement screws for reassembling.

It looks great! The original seems more of a warm light (or orange) and the new one is a cooler light (or blue). But very minimal difference and quality is the same.

My stepdad smashed my 2ds beyond repair because his daughter threw my game case down and I lost 20 games. She wouldnt pick them up so I yelled at her to. Him being the overweight drug addict he is smashed my stuff and beat the shit out of me for yelling at his daughter. Repairing a screen is damn near impossible. It makes way more sense to just replace the broken screen.
