@@UDoIt2 Awesome! And thank you for asking! It's really working great. I'm using it to do a new cabinet for my vintage Pioneer receiver and the Delta saw table rocks!!

Great video! Short, sweet, no fluff and to the point. I wish I had a Delta saw, I have a cheapo from Menards

Thank you for this comment. I'm listening to Amy Landino's vlog like a boss audiobook and she said get to the point quickly. I appreciate this feedback after having just applied her technique to this video. I had a cheapo Delta 10" table saw that I could lift with one hand. This one was a gift from my friend - it was his grandfathers and he already has a table saw. I've had this thing for 20 years now and the motor finally went on it a year ago.

Where did You find a replacement motor?
@UDoIt211 ай бұрын
You can see the article here (which is also listed within the description and the pinned comment for future reference) for more details - udoit.me/how-to-replace-a-delta-table-saw-motor - I just checked the price and it is almost double what I paid when I made this video. It's a great saw and I used it to build a pantry cabinet, a few shelves, and a bed since fixing it. It beats the price of buying a new one and the old school quality is there, which is lacking from many of the contractor grade saws. - John

No issues with blade alignment when you switched out the motor? I have the same model and can’t get my blade aligned with the miter slots.
@UDoIt24 жыл бұрын
Oh nooooooo. Everything worked fine on my side. Well, I didn't actually use a dial indicator with it. I will try that this weekend and get back to you. I'll have to form some contraption to allow me to accurately compare against the miter slot.

Thank you for this content. My switch has been replaced with the wrong one and I need to replace it. The overload breaker has also been bypassed on mine. Could you please tell me which part numbers you used for the switch and overload breaker?

Thank you for letting me know. I updated the pinned comment with links to the parts.

Took my wiring off w/o looking at it. Couldn’t get power after I replaced the switch. The ereplacement switch has 4 posts whereas original has just 2. Are you using the right two or the left two in this hook up. I didn’t order a new breaker and now think it is the problem.
@UDoIt24 жыл бұрын
Hey there Carter. Do you have a multimeter or digital multimeter that you can use to check the resistance of the switch leads to verify which pair to use? It is possible that the switch is a double pole/double throw. It will not hurt to try a set without a multimeter but just make sure that everything is clear when you plug it in to try. Only plug it in once everything is connected. You can check the breaker the same way but you'll need to unplug the saw and remove the connectors from the breaker and check the resistance of the breaker. If it is reading infinite resistance than the breaker is tripped. You can press the breaker and see if that resolves it. If not, then the breaker could be bad.

Hey I have this exact table saw how do you fix your dust collection problem?
@UDoIt24 жыл бұрын
THIS!!! Up until last year I could have cared less about dust problems. I'm trying to figure out why everyone is all concerned. Why does everyone have cyclone dust collection systems. My entire life I'd breathe this crap in. Then a friend was telling me that he ended up in the hospital due to necrotic pneumonia from breathing in ipe wood dust. I'm not cutting ipe but that kinda scared me. I have to remember that you asked this question because I'm going to credit you for sparking the idea for this solution. I'm not sure how exactly I'm going to do this but it will definitely involve 3D Printing (for an adapter to my shop vac equipped with a Filter-Pal Pre Filter) and some type of panel under the saw that will collect the saw dust.

I have two of these. My original (bought 1993?) has been heavily modified for a fantastic small footprint yet good enough for a great pro saw. To the point here: I paid $20 for a plastic tablesaw dust tray with a 4” port. I also have the original base replaced with a shop-made very stable base (accommodates router table to) so fitment was easy. The router table has a second T-square fence with a top-suction dust shroud. I enclosed the original base at one point with 1/4 plywood and ran a shop-vac hose but that wasn’t too effective. All the chips that were heavy settled into the bottom anyway, typical chips plugged the vac, and the fine stuff still escaped everywhere

That motor is just under $500.00!!!
@UDoIt2 Жыл бұрын
OMG - when did that happen? I remember spending $around $280 for the motor plus the extra parts I got with it. It is a great saw but with a price like this one would have to seriously reconsider. Thank you for sharing the price update.
