For some reason these replacement motors come with the end caps reversed which causes the shaft to stick out too far and won’t fit back into the the ceiling enclosure. Before installing the new motor compare it with the old one. Notice that one end cap is longer than the other and should match the old motor’s arrangement. In most cases the longest end cap should be on the shaft side of the motor. If the new motor doesn’t match the old one remove the screws and reverse the caps while leaving the shaft in place. This will avoid having to saw off the end of the shaft to make it fit. Good luck

Great video I just did this yesterday. I wish I saw this video before then it would of saved me some headaches. Going to pull it out again because I am sure the vent ducting is dirty then yours was. You really covered every aspect so I will sub to your channel. Nice job!!

I may be a tad too dated, but what is the part number or part code for the new replacement parts? Where can I buy them?

You can purchase them off Amazon website for whatever particular Models you have for the Bathroom Fan.

You cover important steps missing from other videos, well done. If you can edit in a step about measuring the shaft length of old and new before installing the replacement it could save time. Also you should file to remove the sharp edge after cutting the shaft. If you plug in the motor so it spins while lightly filing it will help balance the shaft and prevent premature wear.

I already fixed the bathroom exhaust fan motor Problem and I was able to get it to fit into the fan housing by cutting out the fan Rotor shaft and shorten the length of the motor and it fit and move very perfectly without any scraping to the fan housing when it was Replaced.

That fan actually looks like a NuTone with a Broan grille.
@amirtherepairguy80662 жыл бұрын

@@amirtherepairguy8066 Well it probably used to have an older NuTone Grille but it was replaced a long time ago.
