I just got this 1954 Ford NAA tractor running and the fuel tank has way too much rust and debris clogging up the sediment bowl. So, I ordered a new tank and this video outlines the replacement process.

I'm glad someone still makes parts for it, that is quite a project. I appreciate not having to watch all the details between each problem and solution.

Thanks! It’s amazing how many parts they still make for these old tractors.

Thank you for taking the time to video this install. I replaced my old tank too, but there was a slight difference in the back bottom radius of the tank where my original back bracket bolted to the tank. I had to modify the corners. I looks like you didn't replace your old one with the supplied new bracket. Did you happen to notice if they were an exact match ? My new tank did not come with a new bracket and I'm just wondering if the new one is different. Also I believe there is a small rubber pad that goes between the front tank mount and tank. Thanks again.

I tried to retain as many original parts on this tractor as I could. So I reused the old bracket. I really didn’t notice if there was a difference between the old one and the one that came with the new tank!

@@pinkcaddygarage267 Thanks for the reply. There was no way my original rear bracket would fit my new tank so I had to modify my bracket. I looked at many sellers of tanks, some came with brackets. No pictures showed clearly if there were differences in the tanks, except the prices. Many with brackets, and shipping were in the $250-300 range. Anyway I hope you have the old girl running and are happy with it. I began a renovation 11 years ago. Many new parts have not been an exact match.

I am enjoying working on this old tractor! I like watching videos where people take some vehicle that hasn’t run in 20 years and see what it takes to get it running. The big difference I have seen is “getting it running” versus “getting it in shape to do work”. My next video on that tractor will be a tally of everything I had to do and spend to make the tractor usable around the farm.

@@pinkcaddygarage267 I"m looking forward to your update. I wish I'd never started my project. 11 years now, lots of time and money, but I can't resist taking stuff apart. $7.5K into it and still don't have paint and have't worked any sheetmetal yet. Ugh. Mission creek is ugly. Engine renew was nearly $3,500 and I had to reassemble and haven''t started it yet. New tires today without ballast $809.

From who did you purchase your fuel line and sediment bowl? I have the exact same tractor with the same trouble: Runs for awhile then the bowl or cab inlet screen clogs and the tractor stops. Than you!

If my memory serves me correctly, believe I bought everything at Walt’s Tractor Parts. Just Google it it should come up right away.

Will this tank fit a 641 Workmaster ford tractor. If so, is the removal and installment of the tank the same as this?
@pinkcaddygarage2672 жыл бұрын
I’m thinking not, sorry.

Try either Walt’s or Steiner, they may be able to cross reference something for you.

@@pinkcaddygarage267 I checked with Steiner and they do have the tank for the 641 and the 601. The Tractors favor the NAA a lot. I’m just hoping that the tank comes off and goes on the way you did this NAA.

Refer to the video and see if you can tell what the similarities or differences are. If you want any measurements off of my NAA tank let me know and I will send them to you to see if the mounting points are the same distance apart.

The red is primer Sir.

OK it may be, but the fact is this tractor was originally painted red. Ford did not go to blue paint on their tractors until the early 60s, I believe.
