Oh, Stef...lemon-lime???? Strawberry is the flavor!!! Truly love your choice of new door. The frosted windows will allow you to have so much more light in the room while allowing you to maintain your privacy. I have been considering replacing mine as well. I have a solid steel with the side windows. Can't decide whether to get new side windows as well or just a new door. With the house being older, you won't have to worry about any foundation settling, and it will remain as level as when you installed it. I bet Devin was surprised and pleased. Thanks for sharing. Installing a door is no joke! We cut an opening and installed a door to our basement ourselves last year, and the measuring and plumbing takes so long!

Great job Stefani. I love the new door. Have you considered staining the exterior side of the door in your garage on a pair of saw horses first before hanging the door? I find it easier to stain things when they are lying flat on saw horses because it gives you a consistent angle of view and helps to get a more even coat. After letting the stain dry, you can then install the door and be able to close the door right away. Thanks for the excellent tutorial!!!!

Thank you! It definitely would've been smart to stain the door before hanging it. I had to leave the door open the whole day waiting for the stain to dry haha.. But I was working by myself and it was just easier for me to get the door in place first😅

Hi Stefani - Thank you for this video! I bought the same Rustic Knotty Alder doors from Home Depot and would like to keep the natural wood look without a glossy finish (i.e., Polyurethane). Any suggestions for a good product that will seal the wood, but maintain the natural wood/unfished look? A Home Depot customer service associate recommended Spar Varnish, as it is used to seal boats. Any suggestions would be much appreciated, as both doors are currently hanging out in my master bedroom.
