Not only was the old door dark inside that hallway, it was dark outside as well, without any real warmth or depth. Now even the color of the cedar trim coordinates with the stones outside, and it is inviting. I love how much more light you have than before. I had never heard of that stretch tape until watching your videos!!! Great idea even if it is expensive, you have it where you need it and where the cheaper stuff never seemed to be enough.

That came out nice, and I like the contrast between the trim and the door. Gives it a little "extra something" that sets it apart from typical entry doors.

Thank you so much Curt! I agree 😄

@@MakerGray I forgot to mention it earlier, but a few years back I got tired of fooling with the traditional doorstop, so I grabbed a block of wood, a few inches of dowel, and a rubber cane tip from the local drug store and made my own. Mounted the thing on the wall so the top of the door hits it and it's perfect....still keeps the doorknob from hitting the drywall, and it's no longer in the way when I clean the floor.

@@curtfatherree7474 That's a great idea!

@@erinlongfellow4755 Speaking of doorstops (and doors for that matter) I want to talk briefly about pole barns. Mine has the typical big door at one end and a small door on the side, which I would often prop open and set up a fan to move air so I could do stuff in the summer without roasting. As you might expect, the small door would frequently blow shut, and I'd have to stop what I was doing to open the damn thing again. Wound up getting some small square tubing and welding up a deal that looks like an upside down "U" that straddles the top edge of the door. Got a hinge on it so it moves easy and I fastened a cord to it to make it easier to reach. If you happen to have a similar door that refuses to behave, let me know and I'll send you a few pictures of it.

Looks great! Is there a privacy screen or blinds within the glass?
@MakerGray2 жыл бұрын
Thanks! This particular one does not have a privacy screen. These doors do have an option to come with blinds if you like!

Never roll paint on a door. Always get the best brush and if done correctly, it will come out impeccable. 40 years of painting and over 100 years of family business.

Are you concerned about privacy and safety with the clear door? Ho?w do you address those issues?
@MakerGray5 ай бұрын
Personally no, we're not concerned. Its really no different than having a window on the front of your house. Can easily add a shade if wanted. We also live back from the street on a non busy road. Thanks!
