We did this job on my Renault scenic 2003 old model (16 years old), and I used your video to do so. I bought the exact same set you used to press the bearing. The main difference was that my bearing would not come out as easy as yours! The “snap” you mentioned as a sign that the bearing was beginning to loosen up was more like 6 little snaps. We had to put so much force on the tool that I was afraid it was going to explode, but it didn’t! We used a really big spanner but it would not butch. After using an impact wrench on the tool, it finally started to loosen up. The rest was “easy”, we worked 2 man strong for 4 hours. It helped a lot that you mentioned the disk sizes 66mm and 71.5mm. The threaded rod from the tool did fit the hole, no problem there. Thank you very much without this video it would be impossible to do this myself. It was a fun job to do! Goed bezig ga zo door!

Hi, when removing the 'ring' at 16:10, what do you replace that "ring" with ? I'm trying to understand what im missing... thank you
@TheDutchGarage2 ай бұрын
That ring is a part of the old bearing. You destroy the bearing when you remove it.

Thank you for the very informative video. Do you know the thread diameter of the bearing tool threaded puller? A 7/8" thread diameter puller seems to be common on bearing puller kits and I fear that may just be a tad over the clearance of the hub splined aperature, as you experienced during your video. I want to know if I need to order a separate M20 threaded bar and deep nuts. Many thanks.

What about ABS? 16:49 ABS magnet was removed, did you install new one?

The ABS version has a sprocket like thing on the driveshaft that communicates with the sensor in the hub.

Hey! Thanks for a great video man! I'm going to attempt this on my Clio. What are you saying at 18:44? About the washer? The washer should not rest against the bearing at that point right, but at the hub itself?
@ParFektion5 жыл бұрын
Or should the washer rest on the innerpart of the bearing when pressing in the wheel hub? Thanks in advance.
@TheDutchGarage5 жыл бұрын
@@ParFektion Be sure that the washer is flush with the bearing. if you don't do that then the inner part of the bearing will pop out.
@ParFektion5 жыл бұрын
@@TheDutchGarage Thanks for your reply man! 👏 But I read that when you press the hub on you should go for a small washer that only rests on the inner ring on the bearing. Is that right?
@TheDutchGarage5 жыл бұрын
@@ParFektion Just be sure that the backsite of the bearing is fully sported by the washer. Be 100% sure it is flush. Then it could be ok.

Great Video! I have a question. The nut in your FAG part looks the same as the original one, that is with a (washer)ring attached. The one I ordered is from the brand MAPCO, it has a nut that looks different. It is smaller and has no ring, it is just a nut. Is it a good idea to reuse the original nut and apply loctite?

It is a option, i don't think it is a bad choice if you dont trust the mapco one.

Thanks for the video,have to do my daughter's POS Scenic, LHS bearing ; still have to check,if front or rear... If you pay good ears to it, *it is* an exact science; right turn, load on left, noise on left wheel (s) ---mechanics do it on a straight road,with no close traffic,swerving violently from side to side,have you ever seen formula 1 drivers warming up the tires on the straight?? (STILL, experts only,and YOU MUST check if it is front or rear!! lift each wheel,and TURN IT BY HAND!!!! you will hear the bad one ; you have been warned).
