Today Kees will show you how to replace your throwout bearing on your gearbox. It's a quick and simple procedure and it is highly recommended to replace it when your gearbox is removed. If it is broken you will hear a squealing/chirping noise when the clutch is depressed and the bearing first contacts the pressure plate's fingers

That f**king bearing caused my squeaking. First I thought was the slave cylinder missing lubrification. But after using Loctite antiseize, then Castrol high temperature grease I saw that the squeaking was causing by that bearing... So now I have to open the transmission I guess... Thank you for the video, It was very useful for me and I hope for the others too. Regards!

Man , Im all troubled , after I pulled out an automatic trans from my 4×4 1991 mazda pickup and placed a manual trans I bought for 600$ ,many parts are a pain in the brain, maybe the manual trans wasnt that good, And now stores are close because of corona virus, No pick up, no going out side, Well, your video is easy to understand, thank you, Im no mechanic, Im learning in u-tube and from you guys. China parts are fragile, Japanese are better, I guess .

I heard somewhere that if the bearing makes noise as it slides across the shaft, the contact area is dirty.

thanks for the video. can i ask my car honda jazz 2003, makes noise when engine is on, and in gear 1 or 2 sometimes, but noise completely disappear when i fully press the clutch. I went to garage they said gear box is the issue and the clutch, some others said it might be release bearing and clutch. I am not sure, I read online some says its the shaft input. can you advise please. thank you so much.

khalil adnan it's hard to say without hearing the noise, if I heard it I could tell you. But it does sound like the throwout bearing, if you press in the clutch and it goes away it is probably the throwout bearing. because that's what mine did and it was the throwout bearing. Common issue on the manual transmission hondas from 01-05.

@Ken751
@Ken751 Жыл бұрын
In case anyone still needs the answer to this, that's caused by the input shaft bearing. You have to remove the gears inside the transmission to get to it. If left untreated, the bearing can completely break and cause your transmission to get stuck in gear. Ask me how I know, lol.

Are there pilot bearings on Honda’s? I am swapping a motor on a manual 2000 accord and was going to replace the throwout bearing and need a pilot bearing as well? I’ve seen bushings that sit in the flywheel? Do these go bad?
@TheMinecraftgosmoo
@TheMinecraftgosmoo 4 жыл бұрын
there’s pilot bearings on pretty much every car with a manual transmission. The pilot bearing is the bearing that goes in the center of the flywheel.

@pushhrodd01
@pushhrodd01 4 жыл бұрын
Vincent Demontigny hell no. it’s impossible
@roncon1180
@roncon1180 4 жыл бұрын
Vincent Demontigny it depends on the car. I’ve done plenty of clutches and Throwout bearings without dropping the transmission. If the car is rear wheel drive you will most likely be able to take the drive shaft off and unbolt the transmission and it’ll separate enough to do the clutch job. On front wheel drive, I’m afraid you will have no room. You’re gonna have to drop the transmission

@roncon1180
@roncon1180 3 жыл бұрын
@@jayman2261 I’ve never worked on a crx, but I’ve done plenty of Honda transmissions before. I’m positive you do not have to remove the engine. You should be able to remove the shift link, the bellhousing bolts, like 2 motor mounts and any accessories on the trans. Once the trans is no longer held by anything you gotta pry it to remove the trans, make sure you have a jack holding it up be fore you pry, don’t want it falling and breaking something

Hello, i need HELP! I have an issue with my Civic EJ9 1.4. and cant find a solution. It maybe comes from the release bearing like this in the video? No im posting this under car videos and hope that someone can help me. Ive made this video from the issue: kzbin.info/www/bejne/j3SlnJybaLeqiJo Its only when i drive, especially when torgue is needed. Its the loudest when driving in reverse. In the video i drove back with the pull brake on to simulate a torgue situation. The Civic has 96000km, with fresh motor flush, oil change, new calibrated valves. The shifting is really good and the clutch engages well. Also it has no heat shieldings anymore at the exhaust, because they made loud noises in the past. I think its maybe some issue with the transmission from engine to the wheels. Pls help me, i cant pay tons of money for a professional mechanik, and want to repair it mysel. Im thankfull for every help i can get! With best regards, Max
