I found you through this video and wanted to come back and thank you! I ended up on your site trouble shooting the error codes from my mother board. Mind you I have zero experience with this. I was able to fix my hoverboard because of you and for that I thank you! In the future your company will be my hoverboard go to place! Thanks again!

Hi, Thanks for your great video, very useful showing the way the boards go back together. I have a question regarding voltages, my kids have a couple of boards, one runs a 36v battery and the other a 25.2v. I’m trying to find out if there is any difference in the main board operating voltage? As nearly all the batteries on eBay and Amazon are 36v? Thanks Tom.

Is there ever a calibration procedure needed when installing a new gyroscope or mother oard beyond the regular center calibration? I was gifted a motherboard that did not work on one side. I replaced both gyroscope (figured pairs was best) and both sides worked normally. However, I can only ride the board one time because it will shut off as soon as I step off. I will ride for a minute or two, step off and the board will shut off and not turn back on for several minutes. If I test voltage at the board I am getting 39v however, if I check it inmidiately after it shuts off I get 16-20v or somewhere around there (something too low). If I disconnect the battery right away and test there I get 39v. Testing the board with battery disconnected it is the lower 16 or 20v. This lead me to believe that I had a capacitance issue with the motherboard. I bought a replacement motherboard that is identical to the one in the video. This new motherboard will power on, however it will not enter calibration mode or power the wheels. When pressing the pads to engage the motors the blue headlight lights up but there is no green light on top next to the battery indicator as there should be. This light will flash green at startup like normal, however it will not light up green when pressing the foot pads and it will not flash red when entering calibration as it should. I have tested the voltage at all connectors and wires to match everything to my original motherboard and all voltages are equal under equal circumstances. The only difference is the larger black top capacitor by the mosfetts, on my original mobo this capacitor will have about 3v until I engage the motors when it raises to 16-17v. On the new not working mobo I get 5v and since I cannot engage the motors I do not know what voltage it would go to. On both mobos this black top capacitor (labeled 600v) makes a humming sound, I have confirmed it is in fact this capacitor. I am thinking the new mobo is having and issue communicating with the gyroscopes (no brand on the gyroscopes, they are blue like my original mobo). This is an old original style hoverboard. The only other thing I can think is that the battery has an issue and the board in the battery is causing the hoverboard to shut off due to the voltage drop. The only odd thing is as soon as I disconnect the battery it reads the full 39v, even though I can only get 39v at the battery when it is connected (using original mobo after it powers itself off). With the new mobo I can plug the battery in and the voltage will be 39v at the mobo battery connection all the time. It will however start out at a lower voltage then climb as the capacitors charge. Perhaps this itself is indicative of a battery issue, perhaps the battery has a couple of weak cells and is unable to charge the capacitors quickly. I have never experienced this though, and if I test the voltage of the battery with the original motherboard plugged in while powering the motors there is almost no voltage drop (it will go from around 39v down to around 38v, about a 1 volt drop with motors powered and spinning freely. I would like to know if there is any chance that this mobo cannot communicate with the gyroscopes despite all connections between mobo and gyros being identical with identical signal voltages? I also didn't know if there was some other calibration procedure to marry a new mobo to different gyros? I am also curious what the function of the black top capacitor is since all other capacitors will either read full battery voltage (large and medium size capacitors) or roughly 1/2 of battery voltage (smaller capacitors). The only capacitor that behaves differently on both the old and new mobo is the black top one (also, the capacitors that are around/next to the black top one may behave differently but I could not get a multimeter prong in there to test those on either mobo). Any advice or info would be great, at this point between two gyros, a new mobo, new charger and now a new battery I ordered I have certainly spent more than the cost of a new mobo. But I am in too deep now and fixing this has become personal haha.

Please can someone answer, can I replace gyroscope for Any card, blue/green. I need to fit the rim LEDs as have a new shell however this board does not have the extra plug to power them. I will tap into front lights if needed, just wondered if gyroscope was paired with motherboard or it doesn't matter.?

I think I had too much weight for it. How can you tell if it’s the gyros or the motherboard?
