How to replace a mass air flow sensor on 2000 Ford Ranger

Thanks for posting this video. My ole girl (2000 Ranger xlt 3.0 flex) is having problems starting lately it seems like if i drive it & park it for 1/2 hour then when i try to start it .It seems like its flooded. The same thing on really hot days when i knock off work i try to start it & it seems flooded.I do get it started every time by holding the gas pedal to the floor & cranking it over. Also in mornings it goes onto fast idle & takes almost 2 minutes to idle down. 'll try cleaning the MAF sensor first & see if that helps.

I have an error code of P0174 and wondering if the issue is also with the MAF. I will check today thanks for the video. Engine light comes on every time I fill up with gas. Changed all the O2 sensors already.

What made you change it? Was it just throwing a code or were you having issues? Mine is hard shifting 1st to 2nd and Reverse and hesitating before it goes. I've been reading this may be the culprit. My trans fluid is good. $38 on Amazon for this part now btw. Nice presentation. Subscribed.

Yes. I had all those issues. The code and the bogging down before it would go. You can also check air filter and spark plugs.

Hi how do you know it’s the maf sensor??

The auto parts store can use a car scanner that will give you a code.. Also Hesitation or jerking when you accelerate is a sign.

P0010 faulty loop error is either o2 or mas sensor
