How to Replace a Motor Capacitor on a Beko Tumble Dryer

help my hotpoint vtd20 dryer has broken the drum stopped turning there is no sound comming from it I tried to start it it would not start

How did you check it was discharged before removal and handling?

brandywell44 Thanks for bringing our attention to this omission. This was a working dryer and as the capacitor is connected to the 'hot' connectors of both windings there is a low resistance current path through both windings. This would ensure the capacitor will always be discharged (unless one winding fails). For safety sake we have now added an annotation to this and another video to ensure viewers are aware of the problem and take appropriate measures to avoid shock.

I presume the capacitor doesnt have a negative or positive. Just one wire to one side , one to the other?

Hi camaro1972ah, we would normally recoomend you put them back onto the same connection you took off as we cant speak for every brand of machine.

Do you have the DSC85W Beko Tumble Dryer. The Back panels are different from this, so this video isn't helping
