How To Replace A Pressure Switch Unloader Valve - MASTERTOOLREPAIR.COM

This short video shows how to install an unloader (or bleeder) valve on a pressure switch (air compressor). Air will usually leak from the unloader valve, ​or it will leak from the check valve. Great video. I replaced my Unloader Valve on my Craftsman 919.165230 25 gal. compressor and I still have the same problem. I thought the new valve was defective til I noticed the tube from the motor and switch unloader was connected at the same place. There has to be some kind of check valve in there because the fitting screws directly into the tank. Yep, just had a "DUH' smack myself in the head moment !!! Thank you for the info !!!!!

You most likely have a bad in-tank check valve. When your check valve is sticking, it no longer holds air in the tank like it should after the unit shuts off, so air is going to back-feed through your air lines and out of the small Unloader Valve on the side of your Pressure Switch. The unit will kick back on (as it should) when it reaches the cut-on pressure point, and the unit will keep recycling like this indefinitely if you kept the unit on. Most likely you just need to replace your Check Valve. How do I remove the line going into the valve? New valve has a plastic protector on it and I can't remove that either. Help!? Thanks

Does your valve look something like this? mastertoolrepair.com/pressure-switch-unloader-valve-ev1wsi-p-23946.html If so, there should be a brass collar inside the unloader valve, which protrudes from the valve, slightly. You first need to press down on the collar (needle nose pliers work well), then pull the tubing out. You have to press with some force, but the tube will come out. To insert the tube back into the valve, simply push it in with some force. It will self-lock, and should stay in place when you pull on it (lightly). Hope this helps!

Compressor hits 125 psi, shuts off. I hear air escape to 100 psi, then turns off. part suggestion?
