I drive a 2000 Ford Excursion Diesel F250 and I too was experiencing intermittent starting problems. I jumped the solenoid with a screwdriver and the truck started right up with the ignition on. I then replaced the solenoid and everything runs fine now. The mistake I made was to forget to hooked up the connection of the main fuse box back to the new solenoid. In this condition the truck was absolutely dead. NO PANEL, NO CHIME, NO NOTHING. My wife found the loose wire and we reconnected it and the truck fired up without a problem. This video was a lifesaver. After 2 trips to the Ford dealer, I was able to fix this problem with a $19.00 solenoid and a great You Tube posting. Much thanks Floyd

I have a 91 Ford F-150 and the starter continues to crank with the key off . I have replaced the starter and solenoid and worked afew times and did it again.... WTF

86 F250 and I have gone through 4 soleniods, last one a Motorcraft! The new one works for a little while then the starter will crank with the key out. New battery, starter and ignition switch also! Thanks

Well ,both studs are positive feeds, the ground is when we mount it to body, I took my old one off and didnt take pic. 94 ranger 2.3,,,, I was separating my alternator wire and putting my fuse panel on second post,, this fella did put all on one side, from what I seen all wires go on same post that the battery goes to !!! T.y..

Yep I appreciate the vid but i don't kno what wires they are from or to trying to replace it. In all vids they go way to fast not explains what each wire is to and for or order it cones off then back on. U can't see it clear either. The directions say much different then what u did. And the way it came off was very fast abd diffent then the way it's seems to be put back on. But ty.

Some of us didn't pull the wires off! My 91 Explorer sat for years, no battery, so your comment sounding like you're putting the person down ad stupid, leaves me thinking you're the one not thinking! Everyone asking about wiring didn't pull them and Ford screwed up with this one with a confusing 5 or 6 wires you can't see where they are ftom or where they go! Where most manufacturers have only a couple wires for solenoid!!!! Now do you want yo rethink putting someone diwn!
