They just go bad over time. Only cost $13. And its not to bad on gas. It gets about 24 miles a gallon

Also. I knew I need it one because the car wouldnt heat up all the way like it should when running. Which made it blow colder air even when the heat was on

You get a P0128 code. My 2012 Charger just threw this code.....new thermostat on order.

Yep. Some times you will get the same one for the oil pressure gauge

@@Grizzel How do I clear the check engine light? I've been driving for a bit and temp gauge is happy, but the check engine light is on and I don't want to clear it on my scan tool because that will mess up the state's inspection on the OBD part.

THANK You...Not only the Perfect explainer video, but that Bleeder Screw...I WOULD Never had done that if you had not showed us this...Thank you. I had to order the entire housing for my Thermostat as it was almost as the cost of just a thermostat itself...My engine light came on suddenly yesterday, so I put the ODB2 Meter on there and found the issue....Autozone has the best tools for all the jobs.

Back right hand of motor on the bottom, should have a red clip on it

Where is the coolant temperature sensor located at and how to change it

It's under the upper manifold right behind the oil filter housing. Unscrew it, screw a new one in.

It doesn't let too much out. Just put a drain pain under there and rinse everything off.

Thanks for the video! So once you replace the thermostat and fill up the reservoir you bleed the system with the car running? Or will it bleed out while it's off?

U dont need to bleed it, just let the air bubbles out. You will need to turn the car on

You don't have to, only a little is gonna come out. Just make sure u hose everything off

The thermostat might be malfunctioning. Or the housing can crack and the spring isn't engaged.

Most of the time it takes a few drives and will turn off, if you have a code reader, you can erase it urself

I see some water dripping from the thermostat on the belts. Can that make my charger run a little hot (212-217 degrees) when idling and stop-and-go traffic?

It will be fine, just make sure u get it off, Because there's a chance that it could squeal or slip off

Depending on how much, I would just spray it down with a hose and let it dry

No, if the compressor is turning on when the ac is on then there is a problem, so check that first
