Thanks for the info. I had a "check engine" light on my dash and went to an auto parts store for a free code read. They said it was the thermostat, but it hasn't been running hot or anything so I'll get a second check on the code before I replace it. Needless to say, I've helped my friend replace a thermostat or two on his much older vehicles so I have a general idea of what to do, but I wanted to at least look up a video on my car before I tried to do it myself. Yeah the video focus wasn't the best LMAO, but that tells me that you are more about sharing the information, and the info was just what I needed. Thank you for taking the time and effort into making and sharing the video. 😎

Thank YOU for this VID Brother, just yesterday @ Br@kes Pl*s, they quoted me $170 for the part alone (includes the assembly), then with a coolant flush $450.00! That was shocking enough. I asked: "How about if you ONLY replace the thermostat?". They replied it would be at around $350.00. I JUST ABOUT fell out of my chair. Napa sold me the after-market part with assembly (not Mopar), for just under $30.00. Thanks to you, I'll be doing it on my '15 Challenger SXT, in my driveway. Thanks again Pally, GREAT VID, insta' liked & subscribed!

@ambitionoliver5928 I have 2015 charger, just had engine light pop on so stopped by autozome for scan and came back thermostat. So I'm probably going to replicate this entire video and curious on sizes used from start to finish. Literally just had driveshaft replaced, then 2 days later a had misfire code, so dodge replaced ignition coil pack, and I'm honestly scared to take it back because I'm about 2k into it just this month. Do you think my misfire/coil pack repair would have effected thermo?
@ambitionoliver5928
@ambitionoliver5928 6 ай бұрын
@jonathang5139 I honestly didnt. This was a friends vehicle. The person holding the camera. He asked if I could change his thermostat and I said yes if you record it for me. It maybe one of your easier fixed and hope it solves the solution. You can tell if its the thermostat if it is stuck open or not functioning correctly when you take it out. It will cause your temperature sensor to act funny sometimes too.

So where all would I need to put towels to keep the engine dry if I don’t do a complete coolant drain? I’m just changing my thermostat. Also can I use the same coolant that leaked out and put it back in or no?
@ambitionoliver5928
@ambitionoliver5928 7 ай бұрын
You just want to protect any electronic components, so keep it as dry as possible. Yes you can reuse your coolant if you keep it in a clean container that you used to collect the fluid.

Do HAVE to drain all coolant?
@ambitionoliver5928
@ambitionoliver5928 8 ай бұрын
No, I didnt do a flush. I just changed the thermostat. Make sure engine is cool and you have something to catch and keep dry engine components. If you want to drain it all then you can use the drain plug for it around the bottom of the radiator

Yea I completely know, sorry about it. It was first time using a brand new camera and I didnt know the focus lens was so smart that it keep trying to adjust itself. Definitely dont use that lens for car stuff no more. You literally can hear it focusing itself. I just wanted everyone at least get the information so i posted it. Thank you for the comment.
